Nice price for a good compressor. For reference, these typically end up selling for ~$70-75 used on reverb.

Been debating on adding a compressor to the board.... looks like this will be it.

I waited for a stupid deal of the day for my compressor. Got the Pigtronix Germanium Micro. It's been pretty decent. Mighta jumped on this one if I hadn't added a comp already.

In for one. Looking for an old school Ross style comp. the reviews say the compression crunch is adjustable. Maybe this'll fit the bill...

Now... where to put it in the chain?

I'm a little unclear on what the compressor pedal does, despite watching a few youtube videos on it. Would it help bring out the leads when performing live? Right now I use a volume pedal but sometimes my leads get lost in the mix.

No. What you would want to bring out the leads would be a boost pedal. A compressor evens out levels between strings or between soft and strong playing and can increase sustain.

Almost went with it to replace my MXR Custom Shop Deluxe which I'm not too fond of. I'd prefer something with a blend knob though.

Does anyone have any opinions on this pedal vs the TC Electronic Hypergravity?

Technically a compressor can serve the function with the right threshold and gain settings...
