From poolemit and DeathCab:
  • This is for AT&T and Sprint SIMs (this plan can not be used on Verizon or T-Mobile SIMs).
  • MMS (including group text messaging) does not work on iPhones on the AT&T side. Android is fine.
  • Visual Voicemail does not work on iPhones on the AT&T side. Android is fine.
  • FaceTime over cellular does not work on iPhones on the AT&T side.
  • Hotspot (Wi-Fi tethering) does not work on iPhones on the AT&T side.
  • See if your eBay account is eligible for 8% eBay Bucks: https://slickdeals.net/f/13471249-ebay-8-back-in-ebay-bucks-ymmv
  • Must activate or renew service within 90 days
  • If renewing, wait until close to your expiration date to add the new PIN
  • Red Pocket is a solid, long standing company with decent support

Wouldn't surprise me. Apple uses their customer base to squeeze as much money as they possibly can, while putting on a facade of customer and privacy before anything else. PR genius, and it seems to work well with their repeat-customers who keep coming back to the same limitations.

"A recent comment left by someone who says that they are an employee of another AT&T MVNO, has stated that Apple wanted them to purchase a large number of iPhones priced in the low seven figure range in exchange for providing the correct APN settings to the MVNO's iPhone using customer base."

Quoting from their support page;

"Q: Can I use picture messaging on my iPhone with the GSMA network?

A: The following applies to the GSMA network ONLY. All other Red Pocket networks fully support MMS on iOS devices.
Picture and group messaging (MMS) will work if you are using iMessaging on your iPhone (i.e. sending and receiving pictures to or from another iPhone). However, it will not work if you are trying to send and receive pictures to or from an Android or other non-iPhone device.
There are several easy-to-use apps that can accommodate picture messaging. Here are a few of the most popular apps:

FaceBook Messenger
WhatsApp
Google Hangouts"

The whole point of wanting to have MMS is to avoid the privacy hassle of these apps. ATT needs to get their shit together.

Can you explain (or provide references) to the information that helps us understand why Google/Android is right and Apple/iOS is wrong?
