These are IoT-class devices, so in a different class than tablets. They're always on, and prioritize convenience over flexibility. The CPU is a snapdragon 617, which is probably over 5 years old, but my two lenovo displays work just fine.

Watch tons of YT/CR on them, control thermostats, look up recipes, set timers (that I can actually see), and can view weather easily without typing anything.

With all due respect, how much should an Alexa speaker or Google home cost then, considering that they have no screen at all?

I have 2 of these. I really like them a lot. They were losing wifi connection several times a day and reconnecting by themselves. I have many amazon and google devices using my wifi router and after I moved a bunch of them from the 2.4ghz to 5.0ghz signal, the wifi disconnects on the Lenovo smart displays are pretty much gone now. I don't have a good explanation on why it works better now but perhaps I had something interfering with the 2.4ghz signal causing the frequent disconnects. All of my other devices are working better as well.

I have no had any wifi problems. And we use it 30 times per day.

And yes, it plays YouTube.

No, it's a smart display very similar to the Google Home smart display. The screen on this one has much better resolution and is bigger than the 7" Google version.

2.4Ghz band is more crowded, more subject to interference by microwave ovens and stuff like that, too.

If you have a sufficient 5Ghz signal, you should always go with 5Ghz.
