happy scrubbing

About this item

Durable stainless steel chainmail designed to clean Lodge Cast Iron and Carbon Steel cookware

Easy to grip, ergonomic silicone core

Removes tough, cooked on food without removing seasoning

Easy to clean and dishwasher safe

Description

Durable stainless steel chainmail rings create a textured surface that is ideal for heavy-duty cleaning, is dishwasher safe, requires minimal storage space, and will last a lifetime. No soap or cleaners necessary, simply add warm water to your cast iron pan and scrub. The silicone core compresses to prevent scratching and helps alleviate pressure if you scrub too hard, thus preventing damage to the surface of your cast iron cookware.

They make a 12 foot cast iron? 🙄

I've used a $8 chainmail scrubber from Amazon for years now. The rings' surfaces are rounded of course so they do not remove the seasoning as long as you don't press super hard. That scrubber is very easy to clean after use by putting some dish soap on it and scrubbing it together. I think this thing with the silicone core would be more difficult to clean. I'm sticking with the one I have for sure.

CCC says ~20$ on Amazon for quite some time.

i've wanted one of these for a while, we use Brillo Scour Pads after cooking something that sticks, and it's worked very well for a few years. it's rather infrequent that we have to clean them like this though, only when making stews or something like baked mac n cheese. most anything else, if your pan is well seasoned, it won't leave behind much and can just be scraped a bit when hot and left for the next use.

This is for heavy cleaning not everyday. It can remove some of the seasoning but you can add oil with a cloth afterwards and heat on the stove. You won't have to completely reseason

is this better than the regular chainmail you can get on amazon/ebay for ~ $8?
what's the point of the silicone pad in the middle? won't that end up getting cut and torn up over time?

$15 skillet + $15 cleaning pad = lifetime of use (and probably your kids lifetime too). Not a bad deal if you think about it.
