I bought this in 2017 for my 3yr old son for Christmas. I bought from a Chinese tech reseller for $17 in October (so it would ship in time).

It's a feature-rich toy compared to other robots offered at Walmart/Target in the $60-75 range. If you have a kid that wants a robot you, it rolls around and has tech music and a Japanese English sounding voice. Check YouTube for Cady Wida videos.

Having said that $21 isn't the cheapest price I've seen AND it's now 3+ years old now. There may be cooler robots out there now for the same money..? This is one of those situations where they probably bought 5000 units from China and are reselling them $5 over wholesale + shipping....along with all their other skus.

Amazon takes about 40% to 60% cut after their 15% referral fee, shipping, storage, advertising, and other stuff. Then the shipping of this toy from china to Amazon's warehouse takes another couple dollars away. In the end the seller probably takes home less than 15% margin. So yeah by buying things like this on amazon, you basically are donating to amazon.

The catch is that this is a shill 'deal' for some crappy toy that is not worth more than 5 bucks. Looks like the shill posters are creating multiple fake accounts to create a lot of TUs on SD to try to bait some noobies like you.

This may not be a deal, but it's not a crappy toy. My son received this as gift when he was two and he loved it.

This is garbage. Bought one elsewhere. 5 year old son who loves robots was entertained for about 5 min. Gestures dont work at all.

Deals like this are ruining both SlickDeals and Amazon's credibility. I'm not sure it's worth my time to even use this site anymore when I have to sift through all the garbage to find anything worthwhile anymore. Seems like reddit is a more efficient option at this point.

What are the basic places to use on reddit? I'd love to bypass the lies and deceit when deal hunting.
