Got one for $60 AC from Office Depot last year. Solid modem, and Spectrum doesn't lock you out of the management pages so you can see logs and signal levels.

How does this compare to Arris/Motorola SB6141? Xfinity internet 200 Mbps sometimes shuts off for a while usually following heavy downloading. I know xfinity no longer supports the SB6141 but I'm wondering if I'll encounter the same issue with this.

Can't speak to Xfinity but I had a similar issue with a different provider with the SB6141. No issues with the CM600 and have had it a couple of years now.

You need to upgrade modems every few 3-4 years it seems. I had SB6141 too and has xfinity dropping internet every 10-15 min for few seconds so bought SM700 (which I think has that chipset) but so far for 3 months had maybe 2 hiccups and only in one of them I had to reset the modem.
I think the cable companies do it on purpose that once device is not supported you'll have issues with it but it's not like they give you that many options besides getting something that they do support (doesn't mean you won't have issues with it lol)

I have gigabit internet through Suddenlink. I went through two of the Arris 6190's with the Puma6 chipsets prior to getting this. Finally no lag and I still can get in the 900+ Mbps down range. Been using for over a year now, and no issues, no lag spikes.

Awesome deal, I was hoping this would be on sale for black friday but I don't think I would be able to find it cheaper than this.

Per PC Magazine:
DOCSIS 3.0's highest possible speed is 1Gbps, also known as "Gigabit internet." However, there's also a new standard, known as DOCSIS 3.1, which maxes out at a whopping 10Gbps. Most consumers won't see speeds that high right now, but in the future, they could.
I'd rather buy the 3.1 DOCSIS

Cox tells me that they won't give me GigaBlast (or anything more that 300mbps) without a DOCSIS 3.1 Modem. Is that anyone else's experience?

I've had very good luck with Netgear routers. If I needed a modem, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one. Thumbs up OP.

Great way to save $13 monthly rental on equipment rental from Xfinity! Does anyone have any suggestions on cheap wifi routers to use with this? I have the 75 Mbps service.
