I'm also a bit surprised that it still uses DDR3-L. DDR4 has been out for a long time.

And in most instances, new ddr4 is actually cheaper than new ddr3 sodimms. Case in point:

The newer model has DDR4.

Of concern is the high # of 1* reviews claiming early death.

I am not sure if it is an NVME. That would make a difference.

The tech company I work for has around 100 of this particular model. They are normally priced $340ish. We have had really good luck with them. Nothing has had to be returned or repaired. They aren't really anything fancy, but they get the job done.

I still consider this Acer the best for the money so far:

"Acer Aspire 5 AMD Ryzen 3200U 2.60GHz 4GB Ram 128GB SSD Windows 10 Home (Renewed) ": $279.99 now.

Used to be $269.99 (I bought one) or
$269.99 and 10% off on eBay weeks ago.

A very good laptop for the money and very easy to upgrade memory and SSD.

There is a really decent deal on refurbished Lenovo with similar specs:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-8...3863556432

which goes for ~$220 after 15% discount at checkout + $18 ebay bucks.

Even though it's SRF, they claim it's 'like new retail ready'.

Keep in mind that this lenovo is not full HD like the Acers and from what I remember reading about this unit when best buy had them for cheap, the TN panel is very washed out and has poor viewing angles. The acer aspire 5 may be the best screen and upgrade capable at the sub 275.00 if u can get with the Ebay coupon from Acer Refirb.
