For those that took advantage of the cheap battery 4 packs earlier in the year at Lowes.. some tools to go with.

edit, looks like this is a good price as well

Any ways to modify a Porter-Cable tool to accept DeWalt batteries?

Thanks OP! Slowly building out my PC 20v collection. I am now adding the angle grinder to the mix. I had a chance to use my friend's and it was a fairly useful tool to have in a tool collection.

Nope. But they can work with Black and Decker batteries, and old 18V B&D tools can run these batteries too with a $15 adapter from Amazon.

Jobs which generally require extended periods of time (like sanding and grinding) are better candidates for air or electric tools.

That might be true but an angle grinder can also use cut off wheels which are typically short bursts. In my opinion an ideal use case for battery tools.

To each his own. My only concern longevity. I had the 20v PC saw and it died on third use. After very light usage. May just be a switch failure but I hadn't been rough with it at all.

I have a drill and an impact driver and both of them are 20v PC and work great. Also have the 20v brushless hammer drill and it is exceptional.

I have the saw and the jigsaw. The jigsaw does not work well. The blade does not stay in very well, and wobbles. I have quadruple checked my connections and cannot find any issue. The saw is nice and portable, but no where near as powerful as a corded one. But for small jobs, it is better than lugging out the power cord.

Sometimes there is not any electric available and a generator is cumbersome, so I take the cordless tool to the job site with extra batteries.

Also, when I do work near or above water, like on my dock or boat, I prefer not to run electrical cords or a generator.

Yes, deal is dead except for the angle grinder.

And IMHO the price on the bare angle grinder is not all that hot.
