So this is basically identical to the 236, which I own 2 of - there is nothing impressive whatsoever. Anyone own these?

The impressive thing is the price IMO... I already own a much higher end 144hz gaming monitor, but this is a great entry level one.

You can get the Dell S2419HGF for $130 on sale or about $160 regular. 120/144Hz with both Freesync and GSync compatibility.

Gaming and 75hz don't go together. The price sucks, you can get 144hz for almost the same. The value in getting 144hz is huge.

If you're looking to save $15 and don't mind a refurbished unit, this is always a solid option.
Acer XF251Q https://www.ebay.com/itm/Acer-Widescreen-Monitor-24-5-16-9-1ms-Full-HD-1920-x-1080/263963277775 [ebay.com] Stand allows you to tilt and also use the monitor in either landscape or portrait modes. I owned this monitor for a little over a year until I recently upgraded to an RTX card and got a 144hz monitor.

For an entry level monitor it is pretty great. To be honest I actually never realized it had 2 USB 3.0 ports on the side until I was packing it up to sell on letgo which would have been a pretty handy feature to know about during my time using it

Get s2419 only if you are gaming, need fast response and have a good graphics card that can do 144hz. Otherwise se2719 is bigger and will have better color and better viewing angle for office and movies. Don't get a gaming monitor unless you are a hardcore FPS gamer.

I used to have 2 of the Acer GN246 model. Very similar specs, except GN246 was a 144Hz display w/out FreeSync. Identical stand and frame though. Stand has tilt, but no elevation or rotation. It's VESA compatible, so I ended up eventually getting a separate stand so that I could rotate one of mine into portrait orientation.

I'd say this is a decent value, but without "lightboost" or strobing, it may show a bit of motion blur. Then there's the fact that it's TN, so viewing angles and color accuracy will suffer. I personally would never go back to TN, but I understand this would fit right into a shoe string budget build. My kids would love it for their PC, and be none-the-wiser.

Is this really considered a good deal or even a gaming monitor? FHD 75hz TN for $105? Sounds pretty average to me, I dont see why this is a front page deal?

At 75hz, it's not even IPS. Usually, you go with TN with 144hz to save money if you really want a 144hz monitor as the IPS ones can be more pricey. I don't see how this made FP.

I know all I have to do is click on the link and check, and it's probably 1080p at that price anyways.

But I don't see anywhere in this listing that shows the resolution. Just a heads up to OP.
