If you can live with 128gb then yeah, it's a pretty good deal

Well, if all one uses it for is browsing, then 128GB is plenty.

Then of course in that case spending 1000 on a laptop is ridiculous.

I think it's on the November coupon book from Costco

What is that and how do we get it? I have a Costco membership but don't know what their "coupon book" is. I need to buy this laptop on 10/30.

128 GB not counting the 1000 vs 1024 round off, and how much OS and reserved space takes?

So how much exactly is left for free space?

In that case - Chromebook is the best and cheapest option

While 128GB is definitely small, if you manage it in conjunction with a cloud storage solution (ie. Dropbox Smart Sync) it can definitely be an option. Not ideal for all, but it can definitely work.

90gigs! I recently ordered a 256 from a vendor but they sent me a 128, I didn't realize it until I fired it up and noticed I only had 90gigs.

So, out the box the OS takes up 30gigs.

That's how I feel about the 256GB. I honestly can't believe they still make a 128GB model. If you're really trying to go as budget friendly as possible, I think it's smarter to go with no TouchBar and get the bigger drive. Or, don't go with a MBP in the first place.
