Fair enough, this post just helped me discover an item I didn't know existed. So, net positive I guess.

Biggest differences I think are steam and control. I tried finding a decent iron for Cricut iron-ons and everything I found pointed to Cricut easypresses being better for that purpose due to the lack of steam, even heating surface (because there aren't grooves or holes cut out for steam jets), plus Cricut has a heating guide online with recommended settings for different materials that's pretty handy. I have a larger press and it worked great for making a few shirts with large decals, and I've been considering this one for smaller stuff like hats but this price is still a bit high for the size for me.

I figured a brand new item with plenty of stock at both of the Walmarts I frequent wouldn't be considered a slick deal lol

Is there any reason this is better than a good iron? I'm new to Cricut and don't have any kind of press yet.

It depends on what you want to use it for

It heats evenly, and this is ideal for smaller projects that the larger presses wouldn't be able to help with.

JoAnns and Cricut also have it for $49 if you have a preference where to buy. May want to wait til black friday at this point to see if it comes down more, or someone offers a bonus package of some sort with it.

I think this goes up to 400 or 450 degrees. Which is the temperature needed for the new cricut infusible ink vinyls
