I have been running 4 sticks of this memory stable on my 1700x in the X370 Taichi since it launched. Do be warned, that on first gen you will most likely need to use the Ryzen DRAM Calculator to get the full timings and manually assign them in the UEFI. First gen Ryzen really hates XMP profiles. As far as memory latency goes, this is comparable to 4000 C18 (8.75ns vs 9ns).

Lowest price ever but only by $5. Half of where it was last year.

I've seen this hover between $115-$120 in the past few weeks. Pretty darn good price for cas 14 B-die memory.

The G.skill 3600 Cas 15's are $150 as well. Also a good deal, slightly better binned than the Flare-X's. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16...6820232306

I'd only get the 3600 Cas 15 set if you have a 2nd gen Ryzen 3000 series. I'm able to hit 3600 @ 14-14-14-28 @ 1.4v and 1.1V SOC at ease with the Ryzen DRAM Calc. Otherwise it may be a waste of an extra $30-35

I bought these for $160 last year to pair with my 2600x and have been very, very pleased. Had stable at 3400 before I updated the bios. Haven't put the time in to try and get it back to those speeds, but works fine with xmp profile at 3200

Gotta love Samsung B-Die, I'll miss it when it's gone.

So, I'm building my first PC ever after quitting Windows cold turkey in 2003.

I have an MSI Tomahawk B450 mobo and an AMD Ryzen 5 3600.

Will this memory be good for this build??

Yes, Samsung B-Die plays very nicely with Ryzen

Just looked it up and the i9-9900k can only go up to DDR4-2666, but the CPU isn't the only thing that consume RAM.. i'm jumping on it.
