I'm not sure. I am highly likely going to make the purchase after work today. The deal is on their website and shown as in-store only.

You have to redeem the codes on the PC that has the CPU installed in it. Once you do that, you can add it to your Epic account and play on whatever.

Really? I can't buy and hold the cpu until I can buy more parts and play the games on my current rig?

Nice deal, but holding our for deals on a 3700x and a 3600 for my next two builds/upgrades. Those are the best bang for buck. Already have a 3900x, and it runs hot and is power hungry, hence my desire to drop to the 65w chips.

I bought a video card there a few months ago and it printed a code for a game on the receipt. Same deal with this?
I am pretty sure it's a AMD reward redemption code and not the game code.

Correct. You have to have the CPU installed in the system you want to redeem the codes on.

To follow up, you redeem the codes via the AMD Rewards site (after running the validation tool), which spits out codes to be redeemed on their respective platform, such as the Epic Games Store. You can gift that key via copy+paste to other people to redeem in their logged-in session of Epic Games Store.

Still cheaper at Micro center with the same bundle, https://slickdeals.net/f/13458136-amd-ryzen-3800x-micro-center-b-m-only-349-99?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1
Yep, But it means nothing if there is not one close by, and they won't sell it at that price online. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

When did this black magic start?

make amd rewards accound
type in code
download tool linked to said account
run tool to verify
game is now in your cart for free at amdreward
connect amdrewards accound to epic/steam
boom have game

i dont remember ever having a usable code spit out from amdrewards. Isnt that the reason why ebay only sells amd rewards accounts, and not codes? You never get a game key.

OK in between these steps
"game is now in your cart for free at amdreward
connect amdrewards accound to epic/steam"

redeem the game via amd rewards, but don't link to your epic account (unless you want to keep it). Then it spits out an Epic key, which can then be redeemed by anyone with an epic account.

I went through hell learning this lesson recently buying a BL3 code on ebay.

Long story short, don't count on being able to buy/sell the game codes any more unless you get a truly exceptional seller, or you have the EXACT same hardware type as in the promo.

3700X is better. Lower power consumption by far with hardly any performance difference and cheaper.

I have a AB350 pro4 running a 1700x currently. I don't need a new mobo right? Just update BIOS?

I'll still hold out for a 3700x deal during Black Friday but man is it getting harder to hold out.
Me too. Since this is a more sensitive time, maybe we should form a support group for people holding out for a 3700x Black Friday deal.
