The 35mm 1.8 is always a good deal, and it's $30 off right now. Fantastic lens for the money.

I'd recommend the 70-300 AF-P VR Nikkor for the long end. Its cheap new, super cheap refurb (I picked one up for $110), and amazing for the price. It's sharp with good contrast and decent VR for video. The only compromise (aside from the questionable build quality) is that variable f/4.5-5.6 aperture will require sunny outdoors conditions (or flash) if you want to shoot below 800 ISO.

It's $9 cheaper than the last SD from B&H of $599. It's a very good camera. I use the Sigma 17-50 f2.8 and it takes really good photos. Of course, it won't come close to full frame like D750 or A7III in term of photo quality but it's compatible with the A6400, Z50, Cannon 90D etc. with a good lense. On the video recording side, it's pretty suck with auto focus. If you record at stand still, then you are fine. However, if you need to move around and refocus, then forget about this camera. Right now with the current market, I would recommend you go mirrorless like the Z50 because it's much lighter in weight and better video focus with the same or bit better in photo quality. It will cost a bit more but not by much.

On the DX end of things you're probably right. I think the Z50 marks the end of the DX SLRs, though I suppose a D7600 is possible, and likely would be the end of the line. Even the upcoming D6 might be the last of its kind - their highest end for DSLR line.

Get the full frame 70-300vr instead. You get farther reach! IQ very very good for the money
