Nice price. I tried many ultrabooks before finding the x1 carbon. The 6th gen model has all the important features from gen 7, but with a lower price, so that's the value buy. The 500 nit qhd screen is beautiful and looks like an OLED. I actually prefer it to OLED because the colors look more accurate (I own both).

Build quality is amazing. Feels nice than a MacBook pro. It's light as a feather yet feels premium. The material is just ideal for a laptop. I'm not sure why other companies don't copy it.

And of course it has the best keyboard.

Yep and that will look good and most people will be happy with that. If you can afford the 500 nit display it's worth it. I bought mine from rakuten on one of their 20% super points days.

I wouldn't touch a Lenovo without at least a one year warranty

exactly

buying a new one without a warranty is a gamble, refurb without a warranty is not a slickdeal

Really? I know the 15" Yoga 720s had a screen issue, but my 13.3" Yoga has been a beast. It fell down two flights of steps while OPEN and aside from a small crack in the screen and a dent on a corner, it's worked great. I got the 3 year accidental damage warranty and was surprised at how cheap it was ($100ish). I guess I'll have to wait and see just how painful the warranty process is...

I have a 4 year old x1 gen3. Great laptop. Takes a beating on the road. The screen just went, so I replaced that ($100 part). The X1 is a solid laptop. I won't hesitate to get another

Anyone know how Credit Card extended warranties work for refurbs like this? For example, if I buy a new MacBook on my Chase Sapphire, it will extend the 1 year Apple Warranty to 2 years, I believe.

What about this Thinkpad?

I've wanted an x1 carbon for the longest time. Any advice on getting one, besides this one? should I wait for Black Friday?
