FWIW, I bought one refurb nikon lens (from Nikon.) It would intermittently (like 1 in 20 to 50) show disconnected from the camera and ruin a shot. It wasn't reproducible. I set it on a shelf gathering dust. I'm not TD the deal, but I always consider refurb to a roll of the dice. "Factory refurb" still means someone sent it back for a reason. So more a word of caution.

I pulled the trigger on a new 35 1.8 from amazon and a new 50 1.8 from eBay within the past year, both times it was $150 or $160 and they are hands down on my crop sensor 50x more than my zoom lenses. Cant speak to the refurb, but the 35 on a crop frame is fantastic

Pretty tempting at that price! Can find nearly new ones on CL et al. for the refurb price...

This is what G good means.

Barrel appears to have been used heavily, showing multiple dings, scrapes/scratches, heavy brassing. Lens glass may have fungus, excessive dust, and/or scratches that can affect picture quality.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the G here is the type of Nikon lens NOT the quality.

This lens is fantastic. If you've been wanting one, snag it at this price.

I agree. It's awesome on the crop.
They have anything for full frame?
