Personal experience with Sceptre: currently typing this using one of their monitors that I bought on Newegg over 10 years ago. Still works great, just like the day I bought it.

Bought a 37" TV for my parents on Black Friday in 2009. They used it daily until last November, when it gracefully bit the dust the day before Thanksgiving. No major issues in that nine year lifespan. So personally, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another from them.

From another user in a previous FP post, in case anyone buys this and isn't thrilled with the sound out of the box:

The TV volume has a volume range of 0-100 and prior to doing this the TV went from soft at 1 to distorted at 10. I got into the in depth settings (Menu + 7343) and went to sound settings, then volume curve and made these adjustments.
These adjustments do stay resident in the TV memory, so once they are set you should be good.
Feel free to write down your original settings in case you want to go back to it.

I changed my mapping to
0-500
10-600
20-700
30-735
40-770
50-805
60-840
70-855
80-870
90-885
100-900

Sound mode is set to soft. EQ is set to Pop, and surround is on.
Now I have less volume, or at least a slower rise in volume (who uses the TV with volume pegged at 100?), and it's way less distorted.

Wow, 65" for under $400 is really cheap.

Need a solid but not too expensive tv for the living room-- good choice? I was going to stick to a Vizio (M Series or P), but this is 380. I don't need the best features-- just something to game in 4k and watch movies in 4k and be satisfied. =)

I'd look at Hisense/Sharp or TCL with 120hz motion rate.

Personally I would get a 55" Vizio M series for $400 and enjoy the better picture quality. The 65" was just $498 yesterday as well at Walmart but it is already sold out

This is another great option and honestly I would take it over the Vizio M series from Walmart as it is a stripped down version as compared to the one they sell at Best Buy

But that comes at a premium... In this case its an 18% ($70) increase in price.

This does seem like a great price, but I think something like the refurb TCL 6 series 65 that went for 460 a couple of weeks ago would be a better investment given the picture quality.
