Bare hackzall can be had for 104 off amzn, so not worth flipping any of the parts if all you need is the hackzall.

Those batteries are an awful price. This is not a good deal.

I am a fan of the M18 FUEL (and M12 FUEL) series, but this set is just silly unless you are just buying for a crew or company. You expect these to be reliable so wouldn't expect to nneed a backup. Or is it for dual-wielding, like swords in those RPG games where you can hack and slash with both hands simultaneously [Disclaimer: don't try that with actual power saws!].

Anyway not a bad deal but I agree I don't see the "value" in this specific combo.

What is the point of these Hackzall things? Seems like a lame version of a Sawzall. Is there some benefit to the different shape?

I would suggest that a Sawzall is a lame version of the Hackzall.

Hackzall is smaller so can get in tighter spots, you can also use it one handed which is really nice when you are cutting tree limbs bc one hand can go on the limb and direct the fall better or just get a cleaner cut.

Sounds reasonable. Thanks for the input!
