Since everyone is making their old phone jokes, I have an original Samsung Galaxy S (1) Captivate and an original Galaxy Note sitting in the basement, not great condition but turns on and no screen cracks
Last time when I got the S8, they offered trade-in any phone. I sent it a free phone from 5+ years ago and got the S8 for ~$400.

What about if you still owe money on your device
You have to OWN the device. If you owe money on your phone, then you don't own your phone... you do not qualify.

With unidays discount, trade-in S8 and bundle offer, I need to pay $688 for S10+ 128B with Tab A 2019 (32GB), keyboard case, and Galaxy buds (or $601 with the phone alone). You can also choose the Tab A 64GB without the Galaxy Buds for the same cost. It is a very good deal if you need everything in the bundle.

Still way worse than just selling my note 8 and getting the note 10+ new for $850 on swappa. After fees and shipping my note 8 can get around $200 so the note 10+ is effectively $650 and no tax. Swappa checks imei to make sure it's not financed or blacklisted.

Versus this deal which is 1100-350+tax so well over 800 depending on your tax rate. And I've heard enough horror stories about samsung's trade in process to stay far far away. It may seem like the easier route but it really isn't.
Well I dont want to deal with Swappa or some other website for Used/almost new Phones from private sales where I need to check IMEI#s etc... I want to buy a cell phone quickly and straight from a retail store/site.. as for the Trade in Headaches you mentioned I have a Brand New but Open Box Note 8 still in the plastic and original box that I am sending in for the $350 Discount so there are zero issues with the trade in on my side. I didnt even pay for this Note 8 trade in I am using and it was sitting in its box brand new for over a year collecting dust in my closet. I also took advantage of using my Samsung Reward Points I had accumulated this October, that I was going to lose anyways at the of the month (Oct 31,2019) so I figured use them now. Sadly I wish this deal was last month when I had more points to use towards an even lower price. But such is life.

Ordered the Note 10+ 256GB (Black) $1099.99 - $350 (Note 8 Trade In) = $749 .99 (Shipping Free) + FL Tax ($52.50) = $802.49 then subtract Samsung Reward points accumulated - $43.89 in points bringing my total cost for the phone to $ 758.60. The points I used towards this deal almost paid for the added Tax total. This final price is fine with me and why I pulled the trigger for it now. I was going to wait until the Note 10+ phone dropped even lower in price then I figured no way I will get the $350 for my NOTE 8 like I will now on a trade in. The worth of my Note 8 will only drop even more as time goes on.. (Like $450 Note 8 trade in with the Microsoft Deal recently that so many abused and made it impossible for me to even get as the Note 10+ was sold out pretty much all of the promotion dates at every store I went too.)

This was my breakdown for this Note 10+ via Samsung.

Note 10+ 256GB (Black) = .........................$1099.99
Note 8 Trade In........................................= -$350.00
---------------------------------------------------------------------
.....................................................................$749.99
Tax (FL)..................................................... +$ 52.50
Shipping.......................................................$ Free
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Subtotal........................................................$802.49
Samsung Pay Reward Points....................- $ 43.89
----------------------------------------------------------------------
TOTAL Cost (Amex).....................................$758.60

(Samsung Reward Point Worth = $0.005 which is $1 for every 200 Points accumulated)

With myunidays I choose the unlocked S10+ model with 128GB. The discounted bundles are listed below. The original cost for that bundle was $460 but now $87.

Do you have a link to this deal? It's quite tempting

I wonder what the trade-in process is like now? When I bought my S8, they had a similar program going on. I sent them my 3 year old phone I used daily and low and behold they tried to scam me by saying it didn't work. Insane it took me 6 months of calling only to get escalated a dozen time with no progress done.

Funnily enough when I sent a complaint to the BBB they magically gave me the trade-in credit the next day. Hope they've improved the trade-in process for anyone considering.

Considering I walked out with the phone for $400 it wasn't too bad of a deal. Still works to this day and I will continue to use it till it dies beyond reasonable repair. Samsung removing the headphone jack was also totally unnecessary and their customer support is garbage.

Regardless, their phones are solid. I still get security updates and nothing is wrong with the phone. Battery is still strong, no burn in, no laggines and got android 9.

Good luck and enjoy the phone
I heard similar stories about getting scammed with trade-in phones so I'm weary about Samsung trade-in.

Great, now is my chance to trade in my Note 10+ for a phone that has a decent fingerprint reader.

The horror stories about Samsung's trade in program are absolutely true. They tried to claim that the brand new throwaway phone I bought to trade in had a bad USB port, probably figuring that most folks wouldn't have taken video showing that the USB port worked. They were right .. I had only taken photos of the phone body and of the screen showing the the phone worked. Luckily I was able to get Samsung to reverse the decision after complaining through Twitter.

So they are honoring higher price on iPhone VS their own galaxy line. Are they saying that iPhone is just better? If they prefer galaxy phones then maybe will buy more galaxy just in hope for trade-in deal next round new phone is coming out.

How to get unidays discount? Just sign up with your email address? How they verify you as a student?

Maybe I'm missing something, but this is not a good deal from what I can tell. Verizon Wireless has a better promotion going on going directly to their website. I just bought an iPhone 11 Pro trading in my S9 and got $700 in rebates plus an additional $150 off using promo code smart150. It's an even better deal if you purchase the S10 or Note 10.
where? the TIV on verizon site is half the values in this sale. As an existing verizon customer this samsung deal seems to be better?
