So the return policy for Bestbuy is 15 days from item received. So I just schedule the delivery to happen after black Friday. Technically you can pick any 15th day prior to Black Friday ((29-15) = 14th) or Christmas. I didn't want to lug it back "if" I got a better deal from now until Christmas sales so I can just cancel the order all together without a returning myself.

Just an FYI for those who want to wait for a better deal.

I just found it. This is roughly 20% brighter than the TCL. 309.33cd/m² vs 244.02cd/m² on the TCL. I think I'll spring for this one

Purchased this TV and picked it up locally at Best Buy a few hours later. It replaced an early generation 4k, 65" Sony LED TV that was always a little heavy on the "soap opera" effect and jittered on the high action scenes of movies. We've got a 7.1 receiver that does all the audio and receives inputs from a 4k Roku player, Xbox One, and a medium-high end HTPC.

Initial thoughts

Functions:
1. Simple swap out/wall mounting from previous TV. Definitely lighter and cheaper feeling. Glad I didn't have it shipped.
2. Has a Roku OS and the software setup (or auto update) can't be skipped. I don't need a smart TV so it's nice that you can configure it to automatically boot into an input rather than have to come through the setup menu each time. I also disabled the speakers and the communication via HDMI for volume.
3. You can configure each input individually for brightness, color, game mode, etc which would be useful for those who use multiple inputs on the TV rather than a receiver.
4. Won't be using the TV tuner, so have no comments.

Picture:
1. A brighter than any other flat screen TV I've ever owned. Colors seemed faded/washed. After calibrating it through the PC and various calibration videos I ended up with a much, much better picture
Normal mode
Dynamic contrast high
Backlight 88
Brightness 40
Contrast 58
Sharpness 50
Color 74
Temperature normal
2. No soap opera effect. Honestly, the smoothness took a little to get used to since it doesn't have that drastic foreground/background separation anymore.
3. Colors are sharp. Not $2-3k OLED levels by any means but definitely acceptable and an upgrade from my previous TV
4. Minimal loss in quality when viewing from side angles and consistent levels throughout the screen.. Meaning nothing weird along the edges or whatever.
5. Have been considering upgrading my video card or CPU on my PC because of the artifacts and jittering when watching high resolution, HD action movies on MPC-HC w/Madvr.. But turns out it was my old TV being unable to process the stream. Big improvement on this TV.
6. Was super stoked to finally be able to have the Xbox recognize the 4k w/Hdr setting. Looking forward to gaming this weekend!

Final thoughts:
Absolutely worth the $759 spent. Won't be able to afford a big, beautiful Costco TV until the kids are grown and moved out. I'm also glad that I picked it up at the local store. Not only did I feel like a big deal strapping it to my truck but the flimsyness while mounting it to the wall, I could definitely see concern in having it shipped. Now that I have the settings locked in I am feeling a lot better about the picture.

Just going by specs, this Hisense R7 has dual 15w speakers vs 10w on the TCL4 so sound may be better and/or louder on the Hisense. I'm not sure if that's also why it's apparently less energy efficient: Estimated Annual Operating Cost $61 Hisense vs $36 TCL. Hisense is also somehow about 18 pounds lighter which seems like plus if wall mounting.

5w difference in sound does not make much of a difference in annual energy usage.

The LCD panel is probably 60 - 100 watts

I was going to pull the trigger on the tcl this morning, but the panel is very dimm. does this Hisense have a brighter display? I can't find a brightness display rating. maybe that's the reason for the power consumption difference?

Apples to oranges comparison. If you are looking for a 75", this is the best deal out there, followed by the TCL for the same price.

(The Sceptre is 65")

This is SOOO tempting....I am between this, or the 70 inch vizio quantum M series...what do you all think? The quantum has local dimming zones and Dolby Vision, but it's 70 inches...I think this one is only HDR 10 and no local dimming zones..
