Why would you buy anything without windows or Linux unless your trying to be a digital editor or designer. Also pro tip gaming is usually easier on windows so there's that.

Was going to consider this... however TN display kills it for me as I don't plan to use an external monitor with this laptop.

Just be sure you know how powerful you need the graphics card. The MX250 is a weak card, but it allows the laptop to be thinner

Just to save some people time, it is a TN panel and the RAM is configured as 4GB soldered on board + 4GB SO-DIMM. Upgradeable up to 20GB officially.

Its probably an IPS panel according to this review [pcmag.com]. They mention the Aspire USED TO use a TN panel, but no longer.
