I personally think better to get the open box s2 with amoled screen and 3gb ram for cheaper. The processors are gonna be similar considering these use mid teir

guess I'll hang onto 128GB model but it's a bit heavy compared to others. I'm evaluating a bunch of these, the Fire HD10, Onn 10 w/kB, and the Lenovo Tab 4 Plus is till en route.
Storage
128 GB
RAM
3 GB

I'm considering the 3GB version of this, plus the 2GB Lenovo...the Samsung's CPU is a bit faster, IPS screen. Android 9 on the Samsung vs 7 on the Lenovo.
Plus, with Samsung even the mid range devices get some software updates. Lenovo, doubtful it would ever even get a security update.

tab s2 is not worth it when the tab 3 is available for a similar cost.. especially considering the tab s2 batteries are all years old now

but its a debate between the tab s3 and the tab s5e. hard to decide.

How so? Had a fire TV 2017 that even played games pretty well. Why is this is so bad when processor is at least 2 times as fast and has more RAM? Geniuenly curious.

to each their own but i last owned an nvidia shield tablet with 2gb of ram bought in 2015 and it was great at the time but is pathetic these days, even base line phones have AT LEAST 3gb of ram, the last phone i bought has 8 and itd be hard for me to go back, sticks and stones i guess

Seems to be the going rate now rather than hot deal. Posted this from Walmart last week, $197. That being said, good tablet. Faster than our old Samsung Tablet S2. Also better battery life. No fingerprint reader.

I just picked up the EBay Galaxy tab S2 that has been frontpage for years - $175 open box with $20 Samsung magnetic cover.

Looks like Tab A 2019 has 3GB Ram which was my minimum criteria. S2 does install Linage and roots easy enough, but it's a little too big for a comfortable tablet. Not nearly as comfortable as I remember the Nexus 7.

Anyone can comment if this is a better deal? I can return for another few weeks, maybe.
The 2016 Tab A 10.1" with S pen has 3GB RAM mine has been used every single day since it was released, day 1 and never has it ever let me down. I've got a 200GB MicroSD in it (160gb are movies) and it was officially updated to Android 8.1 back in December of last year. Really a solid solid tablet.

Coming from a 12.2" GalaxyTab Pro I wasn't sure if it would hold up, yet here it is 3 full years later and it's still one of the better tablets, especially having the S pen.

If you can get your hands on the SM-P580 new, for a good price get it

IMO - definitely; or at least you'll be able to get a 128GB model for this price. $200 for a 32GB, I don't think so.

That would be the same as my thinking. It is quite unreasonable to buy 32gb at that price while you can buy an ipad with better performance at around the same price

Make no mistake, 2GB of RAM is planned obsolescence. It's Samsung's way to push the replacements. Samsung doesn't want you to hang on to the tablet too long. In a few years, they won't update any device with less than 4GB of RAM. They will say, "Oh, it's not enough hardware for the software."

Costco Black Friday has/will have the TAB A 128 gb for $199.99, so might be worth the wait...
