Quote :
Sony is shutting down its live TV streaming service PlayStation Vue on January 30th, 2020, the company announced today. The sudden announcement of the shutdown comes just a week after a report published by The Information saying Sony was looking for a buyer for the service, which has continually lost money for the company since its launch in March of 2015. Sony has repeatedly raised the price of Vue to try and offset its rising costs, most recently by $5 across all plans back in July.

"Unfortunately, the highly competitive Pay TV industry, with expensive content and network deals, has been slower to change than we expected. Because of this, we have decided to remain focused on our core gaming business," Sony said in a blog post announcing the shutdown. "PlayStation fans can continue to access movie and TV content through the PlayStation Store on PS4 and via our partnerships with top entertainment apps."

YouTube TV is pretty nice and if you use a family account you can share it with family members. [google.com] I've been using it for about a year now.

It was really good when I used the trial but couldn't see paying the high monthly service fee.
I use OTA anyway for live TV.

I would think your wallet remains as-is, as Sony as a whole is not shutting down. Prior to using it, you probably agreed to certain terms and conditions. Of course, I can't confirm if they plan to do anything special for this case.

Wow. Not really surprised though. Seems they were looking at the others from a distance.

Too bad, Vue was the best imo. I left about 4 months ago due to the rate increase but never liked the other services as much

Had Vue a few years ago. Was my favorite of any of the streaming service. Now with the price increases and various offerings available I'm content with cable. Even though it's not trendy.

Dang, I was looking at this as one of the possibilities to move to from AT&T TV and their upcoming $10 increase. The only benefit to AT&T is that I'm grandfathered in to the Viacom channels and $5 HBO but it's getting expensive.
