batterylife is a big concern dam
I've had it for 2 days. Battery drains very fast. Idk if I'm doing something wrong or if this is how it is.

Seeing repeated questions in this thread, so copied over from previous thread.

Just received and setup mine. Info for everyone on the fence. See attached pictures for reference on the interior.
  1. The display is 1080P. Cheap IPS display (if IPS at all), large decrease in brightness at 45 degree off center. Will be annoying if you do a lot of multi-people movie watching, but good enough for work and gaming. To get the full resolution effect, remember to Desktop -> Right Click -> Display Settings -> Change default scale of 125% to 100%
  2. Only 2 Lenovo and 2 Mcafee applications to uninstall
  3. Works fine with 4k external monitor as extended display at 4k resolution
  4. Windows 10 Home comes activated (yes, some more expensive laptops doesn't include Windows license)
  5. Fan runs constantly when under load (tested by doing 1 hour of windows updates), but it's not too annoying.
  6. 10 phillips screws hold the back plastic panel. Once removed, start from the display end and work around the edge, gently unsnapping and prying off the back cover.
  7. 3 phillips screws hold the black metal motherboard cage in. Once removed, gently pry off the black cage which will be held by clamps on all sides. I was able to remove the cage with my fingers by prying off one side and working around. Underneath the cage you will find 4 GB of replaceable RAM (other 4 GB is solder on) and the SSD.
  8. If you removed the 3 black metal cage phillips screws already, then 2 more phillips screws (different size) hold the expandable storage cage in. If you haven't, then you will have to remove 2 + 2 phillips screws to remove the storage cage.
  9. When clicking on RETURN from MY ORDERS, I see: Return by Thu, Jan 9, 2020

Its a 30Wh battery with a fairly power hungry CPU. Its to be expected.

There are 53Wh batteries you can buy that you could put in but they are a little pricey at $60 - $70. Honestly, the small battery is a big reason that I ordered a more expensive laptop.

This deal is really for folks who will predominantly use this plugged in

3500U is simply a die shrink. Its Zen+ and you really net 5% ish speed. The integrated GPU is identical with the same net 5% ish improvement.

Probably some power efficiency gain too to improve battery life a wee bit.

I wouldn't trust anything that says 8-15fps improvement. Someone is selling you some BS. You will get 5 - 8% total improvement.

Unless the video game already runs at 100 fps on a 2500U, you won't be getting +8 fps with the 3500U.

Love its design. So far it's very fast even when opening 2 browsers at once with multiple tabs open. Screen is beautiful. The sound is great. Lowering the brightness all the way down turns off the screen. The screen physically goes all the way down although I don't know how that would be useful. So far I'm keeping it. I'll see how it does in the upcoming

I got mine yesterday, it's really good quality for such a cheap price. I was expecting cheap plastic with crappy tolerances, but everything is fitted together really well.

Search for "walmart coupon" on ebay. You'll find them for $3-$4 and it will save you $20, so effectively another $16-$17 off. I also used urlhasbeenblocked for another 1% off and Discover for 5% cash back.

I never get extended warranties, but 3 years for $69 seemed great because it has accident protection, so I got it.
