I will probably stay on since I have the old Go Big plan, the biggest perk being HBO and Cinemax at $5 each. There's no way to get all the channels I watch plus HBO and Cinemax for less than $70 anywhere right now.
same here, just need to watch more tv to make it worth it. Smilie Seriously it's one of my luxuries, I can handle another ten bucks for Go big w free hbo.

Apparently they have removed HBO from the grandfathered accounts. It was available last time I checked. Now it's locked.
don't tell anyone, I still have it free, for now. I don't think they are competent enough to straighten it out.

I cancelled. While I was getting HBO for free (still working today), I probably am fine with using Plex lifetime and antenna with commercial skipping.

Just know that Uverse has their best channel package (the one that includes Showtime and Starz and basically all the good channels just not regional sports BS and crap like HD Net 2) plus free HBO for a year and their decent speed DSL plus free DVR forever and no stupid rental fees for $99 a month. Its true IPTV, unlike even Fios, so the channels change must faster than any cable company since the switch to digital/HDCP, almost as fast as analog was, which really helps bring back the comfort food feeling of channel surfing from back in the day without that annoying three second blank screen between every change. Have all the channels from all the conglomerates (Viacom etc) and their respective apps, plus basically all the premiums, no worry about (imminent) price hikes, no cloud DVR limitation or locals not included BS , for only $60 more than I was paying for 30meg internet anyway. I was going to buy HBO ($15) SHO ($9) anyway, so it really wasnt much of a stretch.

Just sayin.

Sling TV with Air TV(for local channels) is a great way to go for value. For 39 bucks I have almost everything including DVR

Same here. I M thinking going YouTube tv route. Are there are any other viable options?
I've tried all the services and I much prefer the quality of YouTube TV. Hulu TV was nice in how they presented the shows but the picture quality just looked better on YouTube TV.

Fubo maybe worth some of your time. They do have a couple of 4k sporting events from time to time.

Any streaming service usually allows 2-3 users stream at the same time. Why not to share the subscription with friends. Just set up an automatic monthly PayPal payment and split the cost.

That's insane, who in their right mind would keep the bloody service then?
Who would pay $50?

Seems prices increases are inevitable in the TV industry. When was the last time we got more TV for less $?

I see many mentioning HULU....well they actually had a price increase just a few months ago.

With dwindling competitors, I see even steeper price increases coming from surviving providers such as HULU and YouTube TV.

I'm on the Live a Little plan. Mine's going up to $60. One more Price hike and I'm out.

Due to wife, I need ABC and MTV. If I go HuluTV+Philo, it comes out to $65 a month. Worst case I can get Sling, and try to figure out another way to get ABC. Would have to look into Locast+some sort of DVR option.

Where I live in NY Long Island, ABC is on VHF-Hi and I can't get it, but of course I get every other local channel

For those of you wondering, this is the 2nd price increase in the same year. Went back through my old emails and found the email they sent on March 13th detailing the first of the price increases.

Starting today, DIRECTV NOW℠ is offering new packages, PLUS and MAX. Each package has a different channel lineup than what you currently have, and both include HBO®.

Go Big is yours to hang on to, even though it's not available to new customers. However, because programming costs continue to rise, your package will be increasing $10/mo beginning 05/07/2019. As a long-time streamer and early-adopter of DIRECTV NOW, you have an exclusive deal on your Go Big package and continue to save $25/mo on access to over 100 channels.

To see if these packages are a better fit, check out our comparison tool to help make the differences clear. If you do choose a new package, you won't be able to get Go Big back or the discount you're used to.

Thank you for streaming with us.

Sincerely,
Your DIRECTV NOW Team

My water bill went up last month. Should I post a PSA?
Is everyone else who uses the same water utility about to get a permanent 20% price increase?
