Same price at Walmart. Thought someone might enjoy this while it's on sale. Typically they go for about $29.99 without the holster.

In for 1. I have 2 of the older style, but my son lost one of the bottom caps. These are a must for warmer weather hunts. Many thanks OP!

I was looking at these a couple months ago. Found a few YT videos of people testing them. It did not work well.

Nothing beats deet but these work in low wind situations, but nothing amazing. Don't expect to protect a family with it. It's mainly for personal use. Anything beyond 1 person it will rarely do a lot for unless they all have one too. I usually put it under my chair when I am fishing.

I don't like the fact that the manufacturer does not disclose what chemical is used in the repellent.

I think they're area specific or something because mosquitos will eat me alive and the thermacell keeps them away 100% effectively. In South Carolina.

The ThermaCELL Mosquito Repellent utilizes the active ingredient known as allethrin. It belongs to a class of materials called pyrethroids, which are synthetic analogs of pyrethrin, which is a naturally occurring insecticide found in certain types of chrysanthemum known as pyrethrum flowers. Mosquitoes really do not like this material. The allethrin is contained in the blue mats, and when they are heated it causes the allethrin to "volatilize", which is similar to evaporation. The volatilized allethrin forms a zone of protection around the unit The amount of active ingredient that is released is small - not enough to kill mosquitoes, but enough to repel them. There is 0.018 oz. of active ingredient on a mat.

Straight off the website. Doesn't sound bad. Not many repellents more unhealthy than deet anyways.

I bought a few of these for down in Chincoteague, VA and they did not work. 1 out of the 3 wont even ignite anymore. Total waste imo.

But that is just my opinion Wink

Oh and if there is any wind at all, well, still doesn't work.

Note that Amazon does not allow returns if yours is defective. That was worrying enough for me to pass.

If you can't get Amazon to take a return on something (let alone something that's defective)....you either didn't buy it from Amazon or you have not tried to return it.

Sometimes they'll just return your money and let you keep it. I've never lied about something being defective so I usually just chuck whatever it was.

If gas and cartridge left sealed and unopened, it'll be fine.

Did you not look at the reviews? Several of the recent ones mention not being able to return to Amazon
