FWIW:

The Radeon VII is a power-hungry GPU, it requires two eight-pin connections and sips up to 300 watts of power, around five more watts than the previous generation's and 75 more than Nvidia's RTX 2080.

AMD's recommended Power supply wattage is 750w for any Radeon VII builds.

does this card do workstation class 10-bit color support by chance?

edit: nvm, someone asked AMD and received the following response: "No, the Radeon VII does not support 10-bit support in Photoshop."

Really thinking about pulling the trigger on this card.... Wish they were offering a the 2 game deal instead of the Xbox Online thing.

This card will be perfect for my Hackintosh

No reason to buy this card. A RX 5700 is faster, cheaper and runs cooler. Unless this is $200 dont buy.

For anyone who wantd know, neither Geforce or Radeon cards support 10bit color for OpenGL. Only Quadro and FirePro cards. So if you any work in Adobe products, it will be 8bit no matter what mointor you have. You can configure the monitor to accept 10bit, but it doesnt mean it is actually showing it even though windows says its in 10bit mode.

Mainly because it's power hungry and according to AMD, end of life. Also, a $400 5700 XT gets within 15% of it's performance.

If your using it for compute, it's a whole different story but 95% of SDers are gamers.

IMO, its a decent price for what it is, just not for gaming.

It's a niche product at this point. For pure gaming, it's really not worth the money. For creative type, it doesn't meet all the requirements either. AMD pretty much released this for marketing purpose. They wanted the stupid "First 7 nm gaming card." title.

For my needs in both Lightroom, photoshop and premiere I can edit 4k videos and high level photos with no issues. I also have a 2700x and 32 Gb of 2666 ram

I do both editing n gaming and I love it

It's a novelty item at this point, basically. And for that purpose, I kinda want one. lol.

Of course, if you want something that makes more sense for gaming, there are better options out there from both Team Red (5700 XT) and Team Green (2070 Super). If you want something significantly cheaper (~$ 150) but only slightly slower, you have 5700 XT. If you want something slightly cheaper (~ $ 70) but actually faster, you have 2070 Super.

If you're using Mac eGPU setup, RADEON VII is the fastest officially supported card.
