Pleats are for folks with large/muscular thighs; those of us who buy them, definitely need them...but yes, they'll look silly on someone who would usually wear skinny jeans.

*editing this because I'm not going to bother wasting time responding to those below who don't understand what a pleat does.

They're a very important feature for having your pants feel comfortable if they're a feature you need. How do you know if you need them? Try on a flat fronted pair of pants vs the same size but pleated from the same designer...if that extra space they provide makes you feel more comfortable, then pleated pants are for you...if they look bulky or bunch up, you don't need them. If they're the correct size, then whether they look good on you is all about whether you know how to dress- the same pair of pants will look bad or good depending on the accompanying clothes you've chosen.

Sure, you could go with some sort of relaxed fit flat front pants, but that looks shabby in the regions that are too loose now unless you get them tailored; and if that's something you'd do, you're probably not clicking on a thread for off the rack pleated pants are you??

TL;DR: if you're larger than average on any feature in the region that pleats cover, you probably want pleats. Whether they look fashionable or not is about what you pair them with.

Baaaa. The herd mentality is strong with this group, Padawan. Cargo shorts are NOT out of style. Think independently and wear what you want.

Great find!!!
Seems like sizes are limited but far more than you mention in the description. This is an amazing deal for very good pants. They are lightweight and somewhat thinner but I like them. Shipping is less of an issue if you order more than 1; 4 pair was <$38 shipped for me.

"Muscle." LOL! Pleats for your "muscular" waist, too. 😂

So what's wrong with pleats? Some sort of water cooler joke at the office about them?

They've been out of style for over a decade. Longer than cargo shorts.

I just picked up 12 pairs of the Croft and Barrow Utility 5 Pocket Pant on clearance for $6.60 after discounts from the Matthew NC store and 4 pairs of Haggar Premium No Iron Khakis for $9 from the Concord NC store.

The online prices weren't correct for me. If you're near a Kohl's I'd go in and check out their clearance sections. I'm pretty sure I now won't have to go pants shopping till the year 2031.
