Don't remember seeing this at a lower price ever. (Anyone?)

~$2/mo for emergency/low-use phone is pretty great deal.

EDIT
Obviously missed this same deal when it was FP a few weeks ago, 68 TU. Now the TDs seem to be winning.

Does red pocket allow WiFi calling on Sprint with Pixel 3? My pixel 3 gets WiFi calling on Ting (Sprint network) so I know there's no limitation on the handset. If someone could confirm please

Yes, the Pixel 3a can be used for this network. The Pixel 3a XL can be used on any carrier.

You nailed it. Low/emergency use. AKA backup phone for when I leave my daily driver at home accidentally. Saves me a trip back because face it, you just can't survive without a phone. 200mb lets you check/send emails. So for this case, FreeUp is too expensive. Paygo with Tello was better until now. $20 lasted indefinitely.

Bahaha - it's true that 200MB does not get you far these days. Waze uses 10MB+5-10MB/hr for routing, news web sites can easily load 10-20MB even if you have video loads turned off. None of the major podcasting apps have reliable switches for restricting data. You have to have a system wide or VPN based adblocker and be able to rely on wifi 99% of the time to stay under 6MB/day average. Still, very useful for emergency/backup.

Meh, too harsh. Not actually a bad deal for a buy-once-and-forget plan. Freeup no longer has a free plan that includes any data (that you can start...legacy SIMs require a time machine). Plus you have to manually re-new your FreeUp on line every 30 days or it dies. (I have one for a club iPad/Square terminal that takes payments at remote sites; it's a PITA but it's free which fits our budget).

Can you port in Sprint number to this? My BYOD is ending this month and I want to close the account without having to call or chat with Sprint!
