Requires a neutral wire. No hub needed; connects using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to enable smart features.

The current smart dimmers, support both Alexa, Google assistant, iffft and 5 GHz.. 2.4ghz range might be an issue

What do you mean? 2.4ghz has longer range than 5ghz.

Costco Feit dinner switches (non smart versions) have terrible reviews. This is also not an amazing price as there are many off brand smart dimmer switches for $15-$20 now. I would hold off unless the reviews come in as amazing.

it's Costco, worse case you can just return it in store, going to try it out. I need a 3 way dimmer, most currently are cost about this price just for one.

I will wait for a zigbee or zwave plus dimmer . Passing on this. I do not want extra congestion on my wifi network

Yeah this is tempting.. But now that I hooked up a smartthings hub I'd like to take advantage of that. Any good deals around for those? Only need two.

I've never had a positive experience with Feit. Bulbs or anything. They look cheap, are made cheaply, and never work as expected. Steer clear. My entire house is full of smart toys, I stick with Leviton, lutron, tp link, Philips Hue, etc

Couldn't agree more about them being junk. Amazing Costco continues to carry them.

Stay away from feit brand dimmers. They are terrible - I installed a pair in my house but had to replace them as they would flicker when the dishwasher ran. Other brands didn't have that issue.

It is not about a range, 2.4 GHz freq. is 'crowdy/congested' - lot of device and interferences. 5 GHz is definitely more stable and reliable. However, 'smart' technology adapted 2.4 Ghz, that's why I definitely prefer z-wave.

Lutron is the only way to go if you have the money.

The caseta line of smart switches. Use their own hub, work great with Google/Alexa and don't require a neutral wire. Their dimmers w/Pico remotes even replace 3 way setups.
