Dell is having a limited sale on their monitors including the new Alienware AW3420DW for $1000 + Tax & free shipping. (Normal is $1,500 + Tax)

Native 120 Hz refresh rate and is 34 inch gaming monitor with the full colors brought by IPS Nano Color (98% DCI-P3) technology and a 2ms response time. Featuring a 1900R WQHD resolution and 21:9 display ratio.

Biggest differences between this model an the older AW3418DW is the native 120Hz refresh rather than 100Hz OC to 120Hz found on the old, 98% DCI-P3 color, 2ms response time rather than 4ms, and an updated stand.

This price is less than the comparable Freesync LG panel.

Edit: Here is how to get it for $900 Shipped

1) Sign up for email to get 10% coupon code (Email took me ~20 min to arrive)

2) Go to members page for the monitor

Dell and LG use the exact identical down to the part number display manufactured by LG in LG34gkxxx and Dell aw34xxx. No 2 panels are the same but on paper there is 0 difference. And that's a proven fact since TFTCentral has consistently pulled the part numbers and LG has been doing that for a number of years. They sell this 34 inch curved to Acer, Dell, and Asus as far as I know and maybe other smaller brands. they all come out with their own flavors but with the same panel.
This display though is crippled, and not a good deal at $950. Not when the LG F version clocks to 144hz and is fine running adaptive sync on all cards.
Bu If you fancy Dell then I would consider the 3418dw , forego the ~100 nits in brightness for basically the same specs and save a few hundreds. That one can be had for like around 600 on sale. But If you want the best then grab the LG F model which has been as low as $750. This at $950 doesn't make much sense maybe at around 750 to match LG's version, unless u value that 3yr warranty at over 200 bux

edit: looks like it stacks with various perks and in that case sure you could make it a v good deal as long as youre not paying 950 + tax with no other discounts/cash back
I currently have the AW3418DW. I just bought this AW3420DW with the stacked perks. I figured I'd buy now and ask questions later. The only meaningful spec difference I could find is some LG nano IPS technology. Have you or do you know of anyone who has compared these two monitors, or compared the AW3418DW vs any of the "identical display inside as the AW3420DW " monitors from other manufacturers? Just trying to figure out if I put them side by side will I notice any difference in colors or the black levels.

Yes see below. The 3418 is the 2017 model that you have. the 3420 is the 2018/19 model. The main differences are higher brightness (about 50-100 nits), native 120hz vs overclocked 120 hz and slightly more saturated colors due to the nano ips.

Expect a similar performance as the LG34gk950g. This Dell though is too new so TFTcentral doesn't have a proper review up just yet

Yeah within each review they mention how the display stacks against others which is very helpful.
Also once you get this model please post your subjective opinion about it . Like anything that looks different good or bad from the 3418. I'm not looking for any objective testing but I have the 3418 so I'd be interested to know how subjectively it stacks against this new model. I appreciate it thanks

Been evaluating a transition from my triple 27" 2K 10-bit 144hz setup to an ultrawide/s, but there's still some caveats, random marketing buzz words, and premium expense around the products in my opinion.

Was close to grabbing a Samsung CRG90 here locally for $1k, but decided to pass. The prices keep on dropping on ultrawides, and the screen tech is rapidly maturing to eliminate previous caveats.

While I'm sure this is a nice display... I guess I'm not connecting the dots as to why it's worth $1k.

Yeah, it's 34", 3440x1440, G-Sync (Although preference would be FreeSync), and 120hz, but I see a lot of those specs on monitors in this segment at the $500-700 range.

Is that 2ms response and "Fast IPS Nano Color" worth an almost 2x premium? It's still an 8-bit panel (16.7 mil colors) and port selection is your standard I/O for this segment (HDMI 1.4 / DP 1.2).

I'm definitely not a HaRdCoRe gamer, and any improvement going sub 4/5ms is negligible and a non-factor for me. Guessing I'm not the target audience for this? Just found it odd that this has gotten mega hype comment wise, as it seems somewhat luke-warm and normal/non-special pricing in my mind?

Not trying to thread crap, just really curious is all, as I'm in the market to join the *Ultrawide Master Race*.
As an owner of the previous model, I will not be upgrading to a comparable monitor (ultra-wide) for a few years and definitely not unless the HDMI is 2.0 or better (if it exists then). $1000 these days for a monitor without 2.0 is not the best decision longer term.

Anyone know if this is any better than the previous model when it comes to ips glow (which I believe was a problem with pretty much all AW3418DW monitors)? Also, does it support ULMB this time?

I have this monitor and find it incredible! Keep in mind the stand is very bulky. Does anybody have a recommendation for a monitor?

LG or dell won't be able to give u a straight answer let alone someone here. Ips glow is such a weird flaw that is all over the place. Normally though the earlier revisions have some issues that are fixed later by dell with subsequent firmware . So If you are supper picky about that stuff then I would hold off for a more mature revision or get the older model which has been through like 7 revisions as far as I'm aware. I have the A06 rev lol. Otherwise take a leap of faith and hope for the best

I pull the trigger when the 10% coupon still work. I know if I waited longer that shit was not gonna work any longer it happened before. This is one of those deals you got to pull the trigger right away when you see it if not 10% code won't work.
