I can't believe ROKU simply hasn't updated their remotes yet.

This company DESERVES to fail -- its so stupid.

For example, my device is always on & doesn't work well with monitors, just TV.

ROKU is so very, very, very stupid.
Sounds like it's just not for you.

Good product have one and have tried a competing cheaper product (piggyback remote ) ..this is better. Question for fire tvs with the 'new' remote... what does this add/do that that remote does not?

I have 4k dongles with the old remote so my delimia is buy one of these or buy a new 4k stick

Thing I hate about Roku is that you can select a channel by number. You have to scroll down five hundred gazillion channels down until I get to the channel I want

There UI is very simple and aged. So is their brick remote.

Don't go to a "Cord Cutters forum & say that. They get crazy defensive over Roku. SMH. It's easy, simple, dumbed down, but they love it.
Yeah, cause everybody else wants a difficult, complex, overly detailed channel changer.

Seems to be mixed answers on whether or not this covers the earbud socket on Roku remotes, some say yes some say no, my Roku remotes have it so does anyone have one of these things and can say for sure whether it covers it up or not? Seems like a poor design for them to not account for that if it does cover it up.

Depends I believe on the model you have. Roku does have few different types of remotes depending on the model. They may look similar but they are slightly different.

I've been a Roku customer since day 1, 2008 or 2009, and the remotes have been mostly downhill. The first one was solid, durable, and ergonomic. It just needed a few more buttons.

Now that I have had a Roku tv for a couple years, I also can't believe that form factor is acceptable for an entire TV set.

The good still outweighs the bad, but wow.
