Thanks for the reply, I jumped through the same hoops and came to the same conclusion. Law school has been rough on my Swiss Gear, I think this will be a great replacement.

I'd say law school has been rough on and you've been rough on your backpack.😉

If you are wondering about fitting textbooks and other things in there it seems to have plenty of room in the 2 big pockets. I compared it to the classic JanSport backpack, which is 16" h x 13" w . This Samsonite bag is 19" h x 13" w so you should have plenty of room for larger books and things.... assuming that's what you're talking about.
that and if it will look too formal for school.. will show my teen in the AM. Her current backpack is not big enough to hold all the stuff she has to carry to school.

Looked it up and saw that an almost identical pack by them are sold at Best Buys for $80. The reviews are good, so this deal makes it about half off of what its price normally is I suppose.

It's also a volume measurement...

People pay $400 for Tumis, or do they? Why would they?

I'm in market right now for travel bags and I've been checking out a lot of the different brands and when compared to Incase, Nomatic, or Minaal, I think this bag looks very outdated. I really like a bag that boasts minimalist designs, and this is just my personal opinion.

This bag seems worth it for what it is if you're OK with the looks.
I picked up an osprey last week (porter) but i think this bag will do well, may get one for really short day trips

Do they allow this for "personal item" in low cost airlines like spirit or is it too big for that?
