If you have a newer Synology NAS, these drives should work well once shucked and without having to deal with taping one of the pins.
Thanks I was just going to ask this. I have 1019+, I shucked older bbuy book and it was ok

Unless of course you count the 15% cash back, which many people will. Also, I feel like this thread is missing the word "shuckable", so there it is.
Do these have reds/whites inside them like the easystores?

Nice. Good deal then. Keep in mind there's also been deals on 10tbs for a bit more. Good thing to consider if your building a array from scratch and want bigger disks

Was going to wait until BF but recently got a message saying one of my drives has degraded. Guess I'll jump on this, especially with 15% bonus cashback. Maybe during BF I'll look to replace the rest.

It must be answered. It is. Just bought one last week, shucked, required 3.3V taping mod.
You can also use a molex to sata wire and it will make it work without taping.

Guys wait until black Friday. 10tb for $120 is going be the sweet spot.

Sorry, but what is a brickseat?
Brickseek is an inventory checker for several brick and mortar stores. They usually list sale prices that don't show up online so very ymmv.

is spinning drive outdated?
It's not and it isn't going anywhere for a while. Even enterprise backups and storage still rely on hard drives. SSDs are used for flash storage or fast access availability. Otherwise, they still have a "short" lifespan compared to an HDD.
