I have had my simplisafe doorbell since it first came out a year ago and am pleased with it. Very good video and two-way audio quality.

Is this the same as the DB2 verson from RCA or LaView, or Nellys?

Unfortunately it advertises the security system you have.
I was thinking about getting this and do not have a Simplisafe security system. From the product description I was under the impression that you don't have to have a Simplisafe security system - you just install the doorbell and download the app. So it doesn't seem like you're necessarily advertising anything.

You realize that anyone can figure out every security system just by the look of the doorbell right? It's not some secret, not to mention most people will even put a sign on their front yard.

Does this work with SimpliSafe Gen 1?

Edit: Guess not, should've read the description.

I think what he means is that simply safe has a flaw that hasn't been fixed yet. It allows you to use a tool that interferes with the wireless signal that it uses and disables the alarm.

I don't have any signs in my yard and have a ring doorbell, what kind of security system does that mean I have?

They addressed that though. https://simplisafe.com/forum/cust...ion-update

Other security reviewers have also tried to disable the system using the flaw and haven't been able to do so in the real world, because it requires a perfect set of circumstances for it to work.
