15% off selected items. Make sure to select the items and check different sizes. I checked the 512GB samsung microsd evo select and it qualifies. But the 256GB did not. Similarly both 1TB and 2TB of the crucial SSD applies. The sandisk portable ssd 1TB and 2TB also applies.

I know this is probbaly to get people to buy befoore black friday, but if you choose slow shipping, you should be within return period even after black friday cyber monday to return and get a a better deal.

Are you able to apply the Amazon cash back as statement credit? If so then it is essentially the same thing
Yes.

Yes, your math is off...

It's not 15% off plus 5% back, it's Regular 5% Back + an Additional 10% Back.

With doing the 15% back as a statement credit you're paying higher sales tax on the original price, rather than a reduced price that a percent off would be.

$100 Purchase with 15% Back as a Credit:
Sale Price $100
Sales Tax $7 (assuming 7%)
Total Cost $107
% Credit on Card (15%) -$15
Net Cost $92

$100 Purchase with 15% Off the Item
Sale Price $85
Sales Tax $5.95
Total Cost $90.95
% Credit on Card (5%) -$4.25
Net Cost $86.70

Savings on 15% Off, rather than 15% Back as Credit - $5.30
Not quite. That extra 5% doesn't apply to the 2nd calculation... It is part of the 15%.

The 15% off still gets the edge compared to 15% back though, because as you mention, there is less sales tax.

Total savings using your calculations above would actually be $1.05, not $5.30.

Sorry I was looking at the Samsung items which is 15% extra on top of the existing 5% (for a total of 20%). I also didn't consider sales tax which doesn't apply to everyone.

That's exactly the same thing as cash to 99% of SDers. You're splitting hairs.
Hair.

Yes I'm splitting the same.

Hey know-it-all, next time don't issue attempted corrections (splitting hairs yourself) when you're wrong: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/...plit-hairs

Not necessarily commenting for the post but anyone who had these cards that allow reward points back to purchase from Amazon:

Do not use the points for Amazon purchases! Instead purchase the item you want with the card so you can get the cash back and then use the reward points for cash back on the card!

Tricky thought process that you "aren't spending money" with points, but you're actually losing out on getting reward points for future purchases!
I've always redeemed for statement credit. I figured I'd get more cash back if I didn't use the points toward purchases. But never did the math. Math is hard mmmkay.

hmm, is the Crucial 1TB SSD a good deal? Meaning to upgrade my 2011 MacBookPro Smilie
Since this ends like end of December, probably better to wait and see what comes up in BF?

You probably need to check with them. Do you actually have an "Amazon Prime Rewards VISA" because there are various cards associated with Amazon and this deal only applies to that one.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through the 46 pages and have learned that there are more Zippo lighter items that I ever even thought might exist. And a lot of CamelBak stuff as well.
