15% off selected items. Make sure to select the items and check different sizes. I checked the 512GB samsung microsd evo select and it qualifies. But the 256GB did not. Similarly both 1TB and 2TB of the crucial SSD applies. The sandisk portable ssd 1TB and 2TB also applies.

I know this is probbaly to get people to buy befoore black friday, but if you choose slow shipping, you should be within return period even after black friday cyber monday to return and get a a better deal.

Not quite. That extra 5% doesn't apply to the 2nd calculation... It is part of the 15%.

The 15% off still gets the edge compared to 15% back though, because as you mention, there is less sales tax.

Total savings using your calculations above would actually be $1.05, not $5.30.
The Amazon credit card always gives 5% back for Amazon purchases. This deal only adds an additional 10% back on top of the normal.

So the math is correct, as even without this posted deal, a normal purchase would get 5% back every day.

It would still be better to have a product with a percent off rather than a percent credit given back.

The 5% always applies as that's the standard cash back on the Amazon card every day, which is why the second calculation includes it. The only difference is the additional 10%.

As you mentioned though, the higher sales tax bumps the total price up anyway.

Right, it always includes it, but this is an extra 10%, so 15% total either scenario. In your second scenario, you are giving an extra 5% on top of the 15%, so almost 20%.

You either get 10%+5% back, or you get 10%+5% off. That is the only way to compare apples to apples my friend 😉

The 2700X is a pretty good deal if your tax doesn't kill it.
I'm just curious where you can go and still not pay tax these days? Seems near impossible, but maybe it varies by state. Even B&H does tax now and they were the last ones I know about that didn't.

Do I need to active the offer? Or it just automatically apply to any FBAmazon deals?

Of course it varies by states. Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon don't have sales tax.

You just blew my mind, dude.
No he didn't, it's not a valid comparison, he's comparing 15% off plus 5% cashback to just 15% cashback.

I don't know if this is worth a separate post, but there's one item that looks to be a solid deal - the Yamaha YAS-207BL soundbar + wireless sub:
https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-YAS...B072J7PTFB - $185.93 as of right now.

It was rtings' "best budget soundbar under $300" a month or so ago when it was generally in the low-$200 range, FP on 10/29 at $170 as a lightning deal, and if you include the 15% cash back this knocks it down to effectively $158.xx + tax ($161 if doing the 13% thing mentioned above). I'm mostly wondering if it's going to keep dropping rapidly right now or if they're going to just sell out, since it's an older model.

edit: 48 hours later, now it's down to $168.34, still with 15% cash back! It's been slowly dropping every day since 11/4
