I think the proper price for these is $400, considering the quality and design, at $700, it should be built with a proper headband, a good and flexible cable, quality connectors, and leather or nice pleather pads. Unfortunately, the he-6se has none of the above features.

Top of line beats are actually pretty good for intended use.
Teenagers wanting to look cool by wearing overpriced headphones endorsed by rappers?

Lol. I was talking about the pros for dj'ing. They aren't bad, but are overpriced. If you get them on sale they work just as well as long as you don't mind that it doesn't flip out, only slide back. Build sound isolation are adequate for beat marching and live mixing. Beat them up for years and still are pretty solid.

If ya'll really want to make a statement of the headset you've bought, you should just get an AnandaBT like me. I wear then all the time, walmart, costco, working in the warehouse...etc. Paid about same amount of money, but 5+ hours of usage per day vs. maybe a few hours of sessions per use...you decide where to spend the money if you think you need a hifiman.

FWIW - a handful of tracks are mixed using Beats, so it's farked up on its own, but if the folks are diehard followers of the music, even I can't disregard their "definitive experience" going that route.

Having said that, I demo'd Studio 3 from a coworker, and they sounded pleasant with the bass and mids, but not my cup of tea as I kinda like hearing cymbals.

Not a bad deal. Reddit has the deal news out yesterday. Considering the cost, I suggest to take the slick deal to get Hifiman HE4XX for $110 from reddit Hifiman [reddit.com].

As everything else is made to be. Consider, the example of Grado's, which claim to be a homegrown family owned Brooklyn based headphone company. Apart from the drivers on the higher tier products, all the components are imported from manufacturers in China.

Chinese products without the appropriate QC are questionable. However, in this day and age, stop with the uninformed opinions of anything Chinese is bad. Almost everything is Chinese/Taiwanise nowadays.

Unless you're ready to pay more than 10x the price on a competing product, truly made in the US, you're looking to get some or all parts of it from China. But if you would be spending 10x the amount, to have a muh-US product, you wouldn't be scouring over Slickdeals in the first place.
Taiwan and China are not the same thing, and not even close in quality.
