(28) Specialty Bits.

2nd edit: pulled this from lowes, same item number, this total only comes to 217, not sure what pieces are missing from the list
You're absolutely right, 118 sockets. I have no idea why the Craftsman site lists 156 sockets. They sure make it difficult to find out what exactly you're getting with this Craftsman set. I still think both this and the other Kobalt set you referenced are great deals for the money, you really cant go wrong with either one.

I rarely brag about the greatest slickdeals I've snagged over the last 12 years of being on this site, but one of the best ones ever was the Kobalt 189 pc set I bought earlier this year for $62 from this deal.

The box is absolute junk, but the tools are great and this is one of the only sets I've ever seen that really has no cheap filler items. Hopefully that one will come around again.

I've had my current Craftsman set for 30 years but I'm seriously thinking of picking this set up. I really like how you can just walk into Lowes without a receipt and have a broken ratchet or socket replaced under warranty. Just did this with my 1/4 and 3/8 inch ratchets and it was painless. I even ended up with a way better 3/8 because they were out of the cheap one. I was kinda worried about Craftsman going away with Sears but it looks like the name and warranty are gonna live on.

Been trying to get the Ace Rewards to apply since yesterday and I can't get the $99 price to show up, anyone else in the same boat? I've seen people log off and on, re-adding to cart but it doesn't seem to be applying for me.

Don't know why people complaining about Chinese made tools. Look at these USA made tools. If only these tools are available, I am pretty sure a lot of folks here won't even have tools at all.

Hi there, if you're on mobile, or using Incognito, under the Red 'Add to Cart' button, the default store location may be blank under Free Store Pickup. Click Find At Another Store & enter zip. I hope this helps.

The only problem with a set like this is the case has no empty space for tools you will want to add later (and you will). It fits in that gray area between portable and garage-only sets. Garage only tools typically are kept in a larger tool box on top of rolling cabinet, both having room for expansion. That said, this set is still a good value.

Need a good set of wrenches, and the sockets will be far better than my cheap tiny Stanley set, so I made the order online and purchased it.

The only hitch was, after picking it up in the store, I got stopped by a manager. He couldn't believe that the set was available for only $100 and that his employee goofed up and pulled the wrong item or something. After looking at the invoice, his response was... "Wow, that is a good deal," and I went on my way.

I posted this deal on a 450 piece Craftsman mechanics tool kit earlier today -

https://slickdeals.net/f/13512886-sears-craftsman-450-piece-mechanics-tool-kit-198-or-less-plus-100-back-in-points-free-shipping?v=1

You'll pay more up front for this larger kit, but you get back $100 in points over time (if you are willing to deal with the points).

Edit: I see that RSVPD has listed the contents of the 224 piece kit so you can compare with the 450 piece kit I posted earlier.

Edit 2: From the Lowe's listing, it appears that the 224 piece kit has 56 Allen wrenches and screwdriver bits in it. The 450 piece kit has 215 Allen wrenches and screwdriver bits in it.

Edit 3: The three ratchets in the 450 piece kit are 45 tooth vs. 72 tooth in the 224 piece kit. I just picked mine up today and noted that difference.

Here is a link to the contents of the 450 piece kit with an exact description of each item -

Spec Sheet [sears.com]
Let me see if i understood their inventory sheet correctly since you actually have the set for reference. I do like the hex/torx bit sockets being included but did i see that all of the 1/2 inch drive sockets were not only deep well, but 12 point also? That sucks. And the real head scratcher... Do the 3/8th drive really have larger sizes than the half inch drive sockets? It appeared that 17mm was the largest 1/2 inch drive socket included... Yet the 3/8th drive goes up to 19mm? Why even include a half inch drive at all at that point. This kind of moronic decision making is what has put this once mighty retail giant from the top of the mountain to an ekg metre and life support with no imminent signs of improvement possible. Funny how a business/company that had it's thumb so on the pulse of mail-order & catalog marketing was never fully committed to the changing ways of the internet and online shopping. You would of thought Sears should have been in the forefront with online shopping based on their company's history. Nope. 2019 coming to an end and they have one of the absolute worst retail sites on the web today.

People get way too caught up on "Made in USA". All my Craftsman sets are made in USA but I also have Craftsman tools that were made in China or Taiwan that are really good and that includes power tools. I bought a lot of Kobalt tools during their clearance sales for dirt cheap and they are solid too.

I'm not professional mechanic but I do use my tools a lot and I'm not breaking them. Use breaker bars when needed.

I have the large 230 piece trifold Craftsman set and a 178 piece 3 tray case. I use the lesser piece 3 case because the top has big storage. Storage is important for me. It is my go to set..... This sale set is still great value. To be fair my 178 piece with all the stuff in storage is heavy. It is portable though and handle hasn't broken. With the 230 piece and adding storage stuff? It would be a real beast to move around. Not sure if handle and pivot joints can carry all the weight.

I used the price in cart to price match at my local Lowe's since there's no Ace Hardware close to me. Thank you for the upload!
