Why wouldn't you pay an extra $20 and get the 6th gen 128 GB model on sale at Walmart for $300 right now? Seems like a pretty big sacrifice to lose that much space just to get one that's one generation newer.

A lot of people don't need all that storage

I've been asking myself the same question but I think the extra 1GB of RAM is more valuable than storage capacity when you factor in price/spec ratio.

That's why I went with the Best Buy deal a few days ago. $399 for the latest Air. 64GB, 3GB RAM and A12 processor along with a much better screen. The extra $100-120 is worth the more future proof software upgrades.

Just my 2 cents, either way $280 for a brand new iPad is a great deal

I just saw this deal had 20 thumbs up @ $299 so I figured if someone was looking for this specific 7th gen model it wouldn't hurt to post the new price drop Smilie

(I was actually looking at the 6th gen iPad for $249 at microcenter and just noticed this 1 was only $30 more and didnt see it posted yet)

For a $20 difference? Seems fairly short sighted to me.

This new iPad also has an additional 1GB of RAM. More future proof. Other than the processor being the same there were also some minor upgrades to other specs.

It has smaller screen and less ram. I guess it depends on what you value more. Storage can be overcome with cloud or external solutions but you cant make screen bigger or add more ram.
