with a $1 filler and $20 coupon this set can be had for $80, or a 10% for $91

there is another popular deal for the craftsman set. i find this set to be better due to the
pro 90 ratchets included in this set. 90 tooth vs 72 tooth for the craftsman.

I own a few year old version of this set. There are no duplicates, however there are up to 3 variations of each common size. For instance 1/2" @1/4d, @3/8d and @1/2d also some are 6 point and some are 12. Some are also deep socket variants.

Having used these quite a bit over the last 4 years they are medium quality. I've had 2 crack, 2 strip, and 4 that are not correct standardized dimensions. The ratchets are decent, but the rotation lock is flimsy and commonly slips out of lock mid use.

I'd rate these at 3.5/5 stars.

I bought this last year and while I really like the quality, I think the dowsides are the heavy weight and a bunch of sockets are duplicates. For example I bought a Harley and have had to buy more and more tools because the right torque bits arent included or the wrenches arent big enough, no pliers or lockgrips. A Harley is a very weirdly put together machine though.

Lowes coupons in-store also don't work on sale items so don't bank on that $20 off $100 working...

I've thought about this one before. The folding cases that most socket sets come in are garbage. The sockets always get out of place. I like the sliding drawers here

This item has been at this price since at least 2014 on and off - when the 20% Coupon and the $85/$100 GC Deals were in plethora. No one ever bought them because of their practicality - most 1/4, 38 and the 12-point crap. Of course if you are new DIYer - it might be of some use - but most likely ( most of ) the newer Kobalt stuff is made by B&D sourced factories anyways - so why not just buy the newer Craftsman stuff.

go to self checkout, i have never had a coupon not work one sale/clearance items. i just used a lesser known coupon for $30 of a clearance hedge trimmer. paid $23 for it after the coupon. the one time i was told i couldn't use it was going through a cashier who said i couldn't. i asked them to scan it and see if it would work. she scanned it and it worked. she let me use it. also, if you have had problems you can always go to the lumber checkout, at least at my store they are always the same cashiers and never question anything related to other products/coupons

Was this $20 coupon posted somewhere recently? I'm not finding it on a search.

Also to make the deal even better, Amazon has $10 off $100 or more in Lowe's e-giftcards right now.

They used to have a Kobalt set that came with SAE and Metric sockets, screw-bits and driver two sets of pliers, hex wrenches, a crescent wrench, etc. It is perfect to throw in your trunk for emergencies. I snagged one on clearance a few years ago for about $50. Best money I ever spent. Add some wire, duct tape, tire plug kit and air pump and you're good to go.
