no comments and only 3 ups...... This seems like a great deal. The front page Asus is $500. Is it the response time and contrast ration that makes the big difference?

I agree that it's a pretty compelling deal. Might be the Newegg factor. They're not great in case of dead pixels so some people steer clear. Best bet for a monitor is something like Micro Center where you might even get to plug it in before you buy it.

Most likely. That, and this monitor has had cases of some pixel issues on receipt and after a short period of time. Same panel as AORUS AD27QD, but the Aorus has a ton more "extras" and not as many QC issues.

Besides refresh rate, what advantage does this panel have over the following 4K LG panel for $280?
https://www.newegg.com/lg-27bl65u...000D-006W5

If using for an Xbox One X, I really don't see the advantage to such a high panel refresh rate, since the XBox One X is usually capped at 60FPS.

EDIT:
Looks like the LG Panel is 10bit(8bit + A-FRC). Not sure if that's different than the Pixio.

Same as the Pixio (8bit + FRC).

But yeah, clearly this type of panel is geared towards PC users who play FPS games and have the hardware to drive framerates above 60hz. For games like CSGO, it's trivial to do, but for more recent games it takes a bit more horsepower / lower settings.

Not sure if you're aware, but can enable G-Sync on FreeSync monitors now. I have their PX277h monitor running on a Nvidia card and it runs flawlessly on my end

This is fine but it's not that compelling. 165hz is kind of a meme. This panel doesn't get bright enough for HDR to be meaningful. Other IPS 1440/144 panels can be found right now for $300.

Also, Newegg's dead pixel policy is abhorrent. I'd never buy a monitor from them, especially not in this price range which is big time panel lottery for IPS.

Overall this deal is fine but I wouldn't call it slick.

before anyone gets too excited, this is only applicable to certain monitors and on certain gpu's

Thanks for posting that. I'm going to pick one up. It's not the same class as this IPS monitor, but it's a great value for a second monitor used for gaming. According to a deal posted earlier in the year, it's a Samsung panel.
