Keeps motion blur and pixelation down on fast moving scenes and object. Beneficial for stuff like sports. doesnt mater how high the resolution is if your tv cant refresh the image fast enough. Samsung has a comparable model/ price with 120hz
Most OTA TV broadcasts are still 30fps. Some streaming services support 60fps now but I don't know any anything being broadcast in 120fps. Now if you use the TV for PC gaming you could take advantage of 120hz. Or I think the new xbox/PS5 will do 120hz. But for 99% of people a 60hz TV is fine.
And yes motion smoothing\interpolation\SOE is a thing. But I don't even like it on sports. And for sure I'd never bother to turn it on just for sports. I'd argue most enthusiasts don't care for motion smoothing and the rest of people wouldn't notice either way. I'd also argue TV manufacturers are using 120/240/etc as a selling point. Hey this TV is twice as good! The number is BIGGER! Where in reality for the next 10 years 60fps is going to be more than enough. And in 10 years we might have 6-8k 120fps. RIP bandwidth.

Straight forward question. Planning to buy a TV for this BF. Is it a good choice to go with this or is it worth to wait till BF deals?
Unless you need a TV right now for some reason you are better off waiting until BF. There will probably be a better deal on a TV.

How does this compare to the 58 inch Hisense at Walmart? This is $20 more and I was wondering if the display and speakers are better

One thing to be careful on when buying LGs is the fact that some do not have bluetooth capability. I learned this the hard way, as I assumed a "smart tv" would have it. Now, I am unable to use my wireless headphones.

I'm looking to upgrade, coming from a 2013 model non-smart TV. There are so many 60-75" TVs below $800. I went to the store to checkout the on display TVs and honestly couldn't tell much difference between them. I checked the specs on rtings and they're all very similar. I primary use my TV for mild gaming and a lot of netflix. How do I pick?
