I've got the 6s from a previos deal, ended up being about $50 after I sold the prepaid card on EBay. I unlocked it with one of the sims and numerous hours of research from awesome Slickdealers in the comments. The phone appeared in great shape and has continued to work on AT&T since mid summer.

That being said, was thinking of traveling and realized I probably wouldn't be able to use another sim, not to mention it's possible I get locked out of the phone on any random IOS update.

Long story short, would probably not use one of these again unless I was willing to deal with Total for 12 months. Who knows how long the refurbed parts will last, plus the risk of getting locked out.

Fun to mess around with but not to use as your main phone, including for work.
I bought a 6S from Total Wireless on June, used RSIM 14 to unlocked it and used it on AT&T prepaid. It worked for three months. After I updated to iOS 13, it worked for a couple of weeks, then one day it just told me SIM is invalid, I never be able to unlock it again.

So I just traded it in for Costco T-mobile iPhone 11 $580 rebate.

That's what I'm afraid of though I'm on 13, and it still works. If it ends up locked someday I won't be too pissed as it only cost $50, but I probably will avoid one of these deals for my next phone.

Hmm... I'm sorry I don't follow. Why do we need jailbreak to use Rsim? I thought the idea of rsim was to not require jailbreak.
I need to check the iOS version later tonight after I get home. I didnt update to 13 for sure. I dont remember the last one it was on.
Usually new jailbreaks lead to new rsims. Because once you can get to the underlying OS and can start dumping roms of the chipsets then you can find alternate ways to bypass the checks Apple has put in place. I was just saying jailbreak if you can because a carrier unlock is in the works now for the 12.4 jailbreak. From there I would expect to see new RSIMs using the new exploit techniques.

You don't need to jailbreak but if you don't it may be a longer wait for a new RSIM than someone that does jailbreak. The goal they are working on is full unlock without jailbreak.

I have had bad experience with total wireless reconditioned phones. Most of the time, They have after market parts.

Second, total wireless is shtty expensive. $35 pm for 5gb on verizon when tethering won't work on iphone, nor volte works on TW. On other hand you can get verizon prepaid at $35 for 3+3gb and could be cheaper with ebay refills.

And if you still want to grab TW then here's couple of tips:

1. Use cb sites and you'll have upto $30 cb.

2. Do not activate the phone for few days or maybe few weeks. They'll send you email to activate and get $15-$25 gift card upon activation.

3. Use referral after activating -within 2 weeks to get $50-$90 worth points which can be redeemed after 60 days to recharge.
I call BS on your claim. I've purchased around 6-7 TW reconditioned iPhones that were in flawless/as new condition.
One of the benefits of TW or any American Movil branded phones is that they can be used on their other plans such as Tracfone, PagePlus, Net10, StraightTalk. Speeds on all is impressive and I see 70-100mbps here in various locations in N. California.

Fu my reconditioned iPhone 7 and it looks mint.
Relative also said their reconditioned iPhone 7 looked mint.
Box says 90 day warranty despite TotalWireless saying no warranty but 30 day return period.
Both my phone and my relatives phone report "Limited Warranty Expires 7/2020" under General-About.
Not sure if Apple would honor that or not (they void their warranty if a part like the screen was replaced) but it does show how new the device actually is.

ALSO - FREE EXTRA MONTH OF SERVICE to sweeten this great deal!

B]Deal Editor Edit:[/B] (per the guidelines, no referral codes listed in the forum threads please Smilie Thank you for understanding),
Nope, I don't understand. I told people how to get their own code or do it themselves and you remove it. Screw you. This will be my last time trying to help people here. I will just take and give nothing back.

Hope that your refurbished iPhone 7 is good too!

If you got this phone to actually use with TotalWireless with a new number or port in number you can get an 5.000 free reward points that are worth a free month of service (3,500 points for 5gb month or 5,000 points for an unlimited gb month of service).
Within two weeks of activation, log into TotalWireless.com and join their Rewards program. Then enter a referral code given to you by a friend and both you and the friend get 5,000 bonus reward points. The points will appear instantly in your points history but take 30 days before you can redeem them. If you need a referral code please feel free to use mine Deal Editor Edit: (per the guidelines, no referral codes listed in the forum threads please Smilie Thank you for understanding), or ask a friend for their referral code.

Theres an eBay listing for $1 that gives you a referral code that gives 8,000 ($80) bonus points.

If you message iprinks, he'll just give it to you for free.

I just pulled up speedtest dot net and pulled 57ms, 14.29 down and 2.29 up. That was with a less than half signal.
That's still pathetic.

Reps to anyone with experience. I have the tracfone yearly plan until 2021 (added a few cards to get that long) Can this phone or any phone by this company be put on tracfone and be unlocked after 12 months even though I am using the dirt cheap limited tracfone plans? What is the process if the phone is not tracfone?

I've used a TW phone with a TF sim but it won't qualify to unlock without a rep manually changing it in the system. Some people have been told no, others have been able to do it without any problem, just keep trying till you get a rep that will help.

On a low signal it's not for any carrier. Considering we were limited to 5mb down before, this is pretty darn good considering the coverage where I live.

I've bought a few refurb phones from them and they all showed up in mint condition with 100% battery and a perfect screen. Others on other threads reported the same. What was your experience?
The refurb iphone 6 my daughter received this summer had a Coolio brand battery installed. When I had her screen replaced, the tech was like WTH is that LOL.

That said. I like TW service and would buy their refurb devices at the right price.
