I have had bad experience with total wireless reconditioned phones. Most of the time, They have after market parts.

Second, total wireless is shtty expensive. $35 pm for 5gb on verizon when tethering won't work on iphone, nor volte works on TW. On other hand you can get verizon prepaid at $35 for 3+3gb and could be cheaper with ebay refills.

And if you still want to grab TW then here's couple of tips:

1. Use cb sites and you'll have upto $30 cb.

2. Do not activate the phone for few days or maybe few weeks. They'll send you email to activate and get $15-$25 gift card upon activation.

3. Use referral after activating -within 2 weeks to get $50-$90 worth points which can be redeemed after 60 days to recharge.

Rsim works but only for Att and it's mvno. I am not sure but you can give a try in case if it comes with ios 12, then unlock with rsim and then upgrade to ios 13. It may preserve unlock status untill reset. I said may, not sure exactly

I've bought a few refurb phones from them and they all showed up in mint condition with 100% battery and a perfect screen. Others on other threads reported the same. What was your experience?

I purchased SE and 6s. SE was fine but 6s had few dead pixels. They asked me to send it to apple for warranty, which I did. Then apple returned the phone with a letter stating "unauthorized parts, $100 fine if you send it back again". and TW cc scked. For return/replacement, I had to send to them and call their other department to know if I would be refunded with return shipping or not. So, even their CC scks. They were never able to help me with visual voicemail and volte either. gave weird reasons to close the complaint.

rsim never worked with boost. it only worked with gsm. but after ios 13, it works with att only. i guess doesn't work with cricket despite being att. I have limited information based on internet reviews.

That's odd. I did get a cheap bost device a few months back and In that thread there were a few claiming rsim worked for them. I didn't do it cos the wife wanted a plus device just for some games and stuff. Never put in a sim.

you misunderstood me. you can unlock boost iphone with rsim (provided it have required network frequency for other networks). but those unlock iphone will only work for gsm networks. if it's verizon phone, then it would work on gsm but not on sprint. if it's att unlocked then it will work on gsm and not on verizon or sprint after rsim unlock.

The real deal is with multi users on the plan. Two lines gets 30g, three get 60, and four gets 100. It also looks like they dropped the cap on download speeds. I just pulled up speedtest dot net and pulled 57ms, 14.29 down and 2.29 up. That was with a less than half signal.

Ah. Got it. Thank you. That's what happens when I scan SD first thing in the AM before the coffee hits.
I'm planning to Rsim unlock and use a FreedomPOP (free plan) sim on it. Just waiting to get some time figuring out how to do it.

My 180$ iPhone 8 that just arrived was absolutely mint. I feel lucky.
