Bayer lists Amazon.com as an official online vendor for their products on Bayer's website, and the item is sold by Bayer on Amazon. I think it's safe to say that this particular item/vendor/seller combination is legit.

Hospitals of any type are not known for their wonderful procurement/pricing outcomes, and the margins on these types of products for a brick and mortar retailer are always thin, so not a place management would spend time and resources to get a better price from the manufacturer; as evidenced by Bayer selling through Amazon to consumers for just $46 even before any discount.

When you go to the Petbasics.com web site (Bayers animal products official web site). Go to the where to buy, enter your information (Zip, Dog , Size) you will see all the local places to buy and places on the web including AMAZON.COM. There can be other sellers on Amazon. Buy from Bayer on Amazon

I purchased these on a similia deal about year ago. They have an advertised shelf life several years out, so no need to worry about an impending expiration date.

In general, most small chemical medications have an actual shelf life on the order of magnitude of 10-15 years. The printed expiration dates of 1-2 years out are a factor of manufacturers being ultra conservative, not wanting to do longer expiration-date testing on every medication they put on the market, and -for the more cynical- a marketing ploy to get consumers to purchase more sooner.

Make sure to check for 45% off at checkout too(i guess 1st time s&s?). I had to check it off and back on for it to reflect in the total. It only showed up on my families accounts though not mine.

I work at a veterinary hospital and do the ordering of these products direct from manufacturer at $44.75 a collar. Just a heads up. Might not be the real deal if below that price. We see alot of fake productions of these.

We use these on our dogs. We first bought them from Amazon. They didn't work, so we called the manufacturer. They said that Amazon was not one of their approved vendors so there was nothing they could do. I would be weary of buying these as well!

There are a ton of websites that help you verify if your product is counterfeit. I got burned on a Front Line product from Amazon a few months ago. We just got rid of the fleas after a month of hard work and a lot of money. After going through all of that you couldn't pay me to use any of these low priced Amazon options. Make sure you verify it's an authentic product before relying on it.
