saw another thread on a larger lowes kit. I needed a smaller portable kit, when I don't want to dig into my main toolbox or for on the go. found this on the lowes website. reviews sound positive. price may be lower at some locations. YMMV

Good deal. For anybody wondering, the largest socket is 19mm or 3/4 with 1/2" drive.

This a great starter kit . It's got a nice combo of good quality pieces without a lot of little filler bits. And with this case, you won't be as likely to lose/forget a piece when the job is done.

Just get some wrench sets and extensions from Black Friday deals.
Yes it was available for a short time at some stores for $32ish a year ago, but unless you have a time machine.....

This DeWalt 173pc. set will be on sale at Costco starting tomorrow, Nov. 7 for $79.99, marked down from $99.99.

https://www.costco.com/dewalt-173...07719.html

Anyone have an idea which is better? I'm inclined to go with the Costco deal, since if there are any issues, you can return it anytime for a full refund.

So if one socket or wrench breaks two years from now you'd rather get a refund on the whole kit and have NO tools, versus going into Lowes and just getting a replacement of the one socket?
You're only paying 37 cents for each piece.
