I would only use the 3rd party filters if it's from a brand you know you can trust. I'm sure there are some good 3rd party filters out there, but I would bet that there's a number of 3rd party filters that aren't true HEPA quality. Winix filters are pretty cheap compared to other air purifier brands that way over price their filters, so I would just stock up on Winix whenever you see a deal so that you don't have to wonder if the 3rd party filters you're buying are good.

Yes. I have a 5500 and use this same filter.

For comparison, Costco had a 2-pack for $65 a month or two back which was a pretty good deal:

So this is only $2.50 more, still pretty good.

I'm needing to replace mine and noticed third parties are in the $20-25 dollar range. Are theses ones noticably better than third parties?

I have two of these and switched over to third party units over a year ago, IMHO they are of equal quality. It is about $10 cheaper to buy 3rd party. I use the Inislive brand $25 for the set.

Showing "Used - Like New" for me. For most impulse buys I wouldn't hesitate, but air filters? I dunno

I agree on not buying 3rd party. winix also has some certifications when third parties I've seen don't. I'm sure they filter some particulate but I'd bet not as much or they'd be able to charge more.

I prefer the winix over the 3rd party. The winix seems to last longer and fits better. Grabbed two, thinking about getting more.
