You must at least heard of ETA movement. If you are into horology or at least automatic watch. This is the beauty. Lesser known swiss brand with a long heritage. Eterna established a subsidiary ETA that build most of the swiss movement for other swiss watches. Eterna is now owned by a HK owner. Nevertheless, the heritage of fine watch making remains. they also make Porsche Design watches.
I got my first Eterna from my dad who bought it around 1963. I now own 3 and they are some of the lesser known collectible Swiss watches. My other collection consists of 2 IWC watches and a small mix of vintage Seiko, Tudor, Omega Seamaster, and Hamilton. I found most of my best pricing on vintage watches at watch repair shops. Bought one of eBay, but it's all top dollar there with lots collectors paying more than meEEK!

That silver dial seems to have my name on it. Finally, a nice deal on a classic watch that my small wrist size can handle.

Same here.

Too close to BF though. I'm gonna wait for other deals.

One thing that sucks about brands like Mido, Certina, Eterna is that if you wanna sell the watch after some use, good luck...
Once you buy one of those brands, you're stuck.
I'm a watch nut. I've had tons of watches. Love to buy them, wear them for a little bit and then sell them so I can grab a new piece. Anytime I've had a lesser known brand, the only way I can sell them off is by taking a huge hit. So if you're a person like me, make sure you wanna keep this in your collection forever...

This brand is very special since they are one of the founders of the modern day watch (after reading about the history) I think these are like a fire sale and worth a lot more really. Hope they keep this company afloat somehow as an iconic brand.

They'll be fine. If not, they'll be absorbed by Swatch group, lvmh, or another conglomerate...

And don't mistake lower price here in USA as an indication of brand trajectory. Mido, certina, glycine, etc are all cheaper here in the USA via gray market. In EU, you're pretty much paying full price.

I think so. People who buy Eterna are sort of purist & enjoy the brand watch for its heritage. It's unlikely these watch will appreciate over time as they no longer uses home brew movement or ETA 2824-2. SW200-1 is the equivalent. These are for collectors & not for investment. For that get a Rolex, AP or some of the exclusive unique boutique brands.

Yes Sellita SW200-1, power reserve 38hrs, 28,800vph 26 jewels, 1 ball bearing. Pretty slick for the price. You just can't get a 28,800vph at this price.
Has very good reviews and one more jewel than the (ironically) ETA equivalent movement i think?

Also noted: "Sellita movements can be found powering such brands as Oris, Eterna, C.Ward, Glycine, Bulova, Alpina, Deep Blue, Davosa, Stowa, B&M, Tag, IWC, Montblanc, Sinn, Hublot, Limes, Achimede, Mondaine, Aramar, Epos, Schaffen, Invicta, Edox, Monta, Graf Zeppelin, Porsche Design, Breitling, Bell&Ross, MeisterSinger, Rotary"
