The Go is a pretty nice little unit. It gets some flak for not being a Quest but it's also not $400 or anywhere near that. I use mine daily while rowing, basically a huge screen the sit a few feet out in front of me regardless of moving back and forth. Can't beat it for 3d flicks. The effect is much more pronounced than in most theaters I've seen.

Not a huge gaming catalog but it works dandy with Virtual Desktop (a ~$10 app) to stream your PC realtime into the headset so any normal games can be played pretty well right in the headset.

Make sure you know what your buying before you get it but if you are more interested in cool virtual theater type use this would likely fit the bill just fine.

Before everyone has to ask, yes it's fine for porn but VR porn really isn't all that amazing yet. You'll download a few flicks, think oh that's neat and then move on until we have virtual interactive smurf sodemy like everyone wants.

The Quest doesn't work in a dark room due to the tracking lights/software.

So if you're someone who enjoys jerking off with all of the lights on I guess the Quest would be your preference. And let's be honest once you get tired of all the tech demos and YouTube rollercoaster videos, this is gonna turn into a jerk off machine.

Man, given what everyone in this thread says this product's primary use case is, I'm not so sure how much I'd want a used one, even for $100...

Totally worth it for the price. It's a huge upgrade from Daydream from my experience. The device has ever only given me a "hot" warning once. Battery life is a good 2 hours. The screen is a huge plus in regard to reduced screen door effect. You're absolutely not going to find a better mobile VR solution..

This is ideal for video, not for gaming -- but does anyone really want to spend $400 to play low budget mobile games? Really? Because you can count the quality of "good," not "good for being VR," games on one hand right now. For $400 you can get a good PC VR setup, if you already have a PC gaming desktop of course, and then play games worth the $400 investment.

The Go gets the balance between price and features right, especially when you can find it at a discount. I got mine off eBay for $100 even, and it's a steal at that price. If this is going on sale now, I'm certain you'll see it at the same price come Black Friday, if not lower.

LOL. My Rift S works pretty well with the lights off, but even still, its not like you can tell if the lights are on or not with the headset on. You cant see anything but the VR display.

Haha, I was thinking more about the nosy neighbors who are going to wonder why your bedroom lights are always on full blast late at night.

Seems like it needs the haptic feedback option to complete this. 🤪

It might go like $149 maybe but honestly if I was worried about price I would take a look at the used market, lots of people ditching Go's to buy their Quests. I see them around town for ~$100 pretty often.

How is the battery life? Can it decode 10GB+ VR videos? (Skybox)
